“Paying peanuts” should be the official title of this offseason.Hmm let’s see, should we pay peanuts for a backup qb familiar with the system or paying more for guys like Winston and dalton who seem to like giving the ball to the other team, Winston especially?
I’ll take my chances with Winston on a one year prove it deal than 34-year-old journeyman Brain Hoyer. You're making it sound like we passed on Brady and Brees when we're actually passing on Andy Dalton, Derek Carr, and the corpse of Cam Newton--all 3 at literally 10 times the price of Hoyer plus trade compensation, none of whom could possibly put this roster over the hump.
Unless you're talking about Jameis, who will probably get a bigger contract than we think.
If Stidham isn’t the second coming of Mahomes, this is going to be a long season and one excruciatingly long rebuild.
To not bring in a guy with talent to at least compete for the starting job is just nauseating.
Hoyer isn’t competition in the slightest, and if he is, we’re in big, big trouble...
