Double the Mathhews btw . lets see the guarantees but not really a camp body contract . true backup scenario contract.

EDIT: They did cut Kinghton on the 1y/2M deal and paid him 350.000$ for the signing and preseason..

Looks like they don't plan on cutting him but still have the freedom to if it doesn't work out.

Yeah unless a lot of it is based on a roster bonus / playtime incentives this might change the math on how likely he is to get cut.

I really don't think the Pats will keep a guy who doesn't fit over a guy who does just because of what's likely to be far less than $1M in guarantees.

Maybe. Think this is mostly about Berrios and McC anyway. MM seems to be a long shot at best. Depends on "how far off" the two of them are relative to what Decker brings to the table at this point in his career.

It seems to me that Edelman, Hogan, Dorsett and Patterson are "most likely" to take four of the five (non-Slater) WR roster spots.

At this point, I'd say that Decker is competing primarily with Britt and the two punt-returner candidates for the fifth spot and the temporary "bonus spot" that's open (hypothetically) during Edelman's suspension. Mitchell may, or may not, be in the running.

My feeling is that unless whatever Britt showed so far was only a mirage and he falls apart in the next weeks ( or gets injured) he will have one of the top 5 spots (if you include Edelman). He brings something to the table that others don't.

Also given the uncertainty about Edelman I would not be shocked if we carry more WR than usual. Especially if Patterson gets a slot usually slated to STs. It remains one of the more intriguing roster battles.

quite different from first “source“ (manager) . as usual
this is similar to Matthews (a bit below) in base . as expected
He'll have to be pretty convincing . or Pats damn unlucky to make it
