Was just scrolling around sportsbook.com and they have lines out already for Week 1 in the NFL. Needless to say 15.5 is the biggest spread that week, next closest is Chargers -10 vs. Panthers.

Re: Pats -15.5 vs. Cheifs Week 1

Just found a few more, they have a section of headline games for the year with the lines out already:

Pats -9 @ Jets 9/14
Pats -3 @ Chargers 10/12
Pats -14 vs. Broncos 10/20
Pats -2.5 @ Colts 11/2
Pats -14 vs. Jets 11/13
Pats -7 @ Seahawks 12/7
Pats -10 @ Raiders 12/14

and I will be putting money on each of those games.

These point spreads before training camp even starts are beyond pointless.

Last year they had the Pats/Jets Week 1 line pretty accurate from the start. When they came out in April last year I took the Pats -6 @ the Jets, and the final gameday line was Pats -6.5.

Barring injury the teams are now set. June 1 cuts aren't what they used to be and trades are few and far between. If the Chiefs have a strong pre-season I don't think you'll see that number change.

Point spreads are not power rankings. They reflect how people are betting on a game. The POINT is that those who disagree with the spread have an early opportunity to benefit from their insight/hunch.

I'd bet the Pats on all of these. I'd be reluctant to do the Broncos game in Denver, but at home...
