With the caveat that this is still preseason, it really looks like the offense is starting to gel and Mac is really getting pretty good at running O'Brien's offense. The wheels could still come off and it is hard to judge much of anything at training camp, but again it is far better than hearing about the disaster the offense was last year at training camp.
Hell, just Lazar talking about Mac making plays from bunching concepts makes me feel so much more confident than last year.

Many folks here's favorite game is second guessing draft picks retrospectively. Fun and easy game for fools.
Yeah, I dont get it and dont know why these idiots think we need to hear it.

Oh, my bad, I forget Patfan2 is an imbecile

There were a few times when it sounded like the defense was in the backfield or at Mac's feet, so I'm wondering where the weaknesses on this line are. I wish they'd talk about the line play more.

I think it's tough to tell in practice because so much of the trenches is jumbled together. If they could look back at some sky views and replays it would probably be easier to break down what went right/wrong on a given play. But from a side angle with only one chance to see it, I imagine it's a guessing game.

Fair point . My yardstick for Thornton is probably unfair considering he also wa stunted by Patricia. But considering our history and the fact that Boutte and DD are showing more promise, might make sense to redshirt him as opposed to trading or cutting him. Maybe he needs more time . Thornton has not shown any sparks that we hear from dd or Boutte to a certain extent . And considering our drafting history with wide receivers in first 3 rounds it leaves a lot to be desired .
You are 100000% overreacting to reports from the first few days.
Getting a tweet or 2 isn’t “showing promise”.
Thornton is out today and once they left the red zone he was making plays.
Players aren’t evaluated by 2 or 3 plays that someone tweets about.
Thornton was drafted for his skill set which he still possesses and given the circumstances and injury his rookie season was decent. He isn’t out of the plan because a 6th round flyer (who people were saying a week ago was a flop) caught a few passes when thrown in there in practice.

It was only natural that the offense, who was incorporating a new coordinator, revised system, new linemen and weapons would have to catch up to a defense returning the majority of their starters and adding some talented rookies.

Don’t get too high or low based on the first week of camp. Things are just getting started, players are just starting to get into playing shape. By the end of camp and preseason we’ll know better what they have.

What's funny about that is IIRC, I don't remember the Pats running 1 single bunch formation play last year (not including an obvious WR screen)
I remember Henry and Jonnu running a crossing pattern, running into each other and getting injured… the ineptitude from last season’s offense can’t be overstated.

No Patriot fan should ever suggest coaching doesn’t matter again.

You can look at the 1 on 1s. Is Mafi losing, or is it Murray and Russey? The 1 on 1s commentary I saw it was Murray losing.

OC BOB really thinks he can make DeVante Parker get back to his Good ole Miami days he's having a solid camp with a Real OC sorry if I doubted you DeVante.
I can guarantee gonzo won't be allowing to many more of those types of plays from parker.. good to see Parker was able to make some plays.. reports were gonzo had him locked up all camp..
