A week into camp you are saying redshirt him in the same breath as telling someone not to give up on him so easily. Only on patsfans….

Fair point . My yardstick for Thornton is probably unfair considering he also wa stunted by Patricia. But considering our history and the fact that Boutte and DD are showing more promise, might make sense to redshirt him as opposed to trading or cutting him. Maybe he needs more time . Thornton has not shown any sparks that we hear from dd or Boutte to a certain extent . And considering our drafting history with wide receivers in first 3 rounds it leaves a lot to be desired .

Contrast with last year where we did not hear about a single practice where the offense looked good. Can’t help feeling a little encouraged at this point.

I was so wrong on Pickens and Thornton was second on my board.
This is looking more Chad Jackson like than Davante Adana who he says his game resembles.
Thorntons height and speed he needs to be a difference maker.
However he needs to show up in short order.

There were a few times when it sounded like the defense was in the backfield or at Mac's feet, so I'm wondering where the weaknesses on this line are. I wish they'd talk about the line play more.

With the caveat that this is still preseason, it really looks like the offense is starting to gel and Mac is really getting pretty good at running O'Brien's offense. The wheels could still come off and it is hard to judge much of anything at training camp, but again it is far better than hearing about the disaster the offense was last year at training camp.
