Bill Belichick didn't waste any time making a move on Friday after Ian Rapoport reported that the team had made a surprising move with one of their players.

Ian, why is this a surprising trade? Were you surprised that we would get anything for him?

surprising? No.

I didn't think he'd survive roster cuts and wasn't expecting them to be able to get anything for him in any type of trade. Obviously, I'm glad they at least recouped something for him.

Goodbye and good luck

Belichick don't draft a CB higher than 5th round anymore thanks.

5th Round?? BB have struck gold more times that not with UDFA ie... Jonathan Jones - JC Jackson and Justin Coleman just to name a few and who could forget Malcolm Butler.

But I was assured on this forum just last night that Dawson played a great game and would have a roster spot over Crossen. Surely our most annoyingly know-it-all posters here can't turn out to be full of ****.

Yeah, I'm also just happy they got anything at all for him. Combine the two trades and they more or less traded Dawson for Russell Bodine, which I'm plenty happy with.

He played well obviously well enough to make the broncos.
When did I say he earned a roster spot? Hint I didn’t
If you want to think crossen played well last night it is your prerogative to be ignorant.

He played 'well' enough to be traded for a 6th round pick a year after being drafted in the 2nd. If you want to spin that as being right in calling Crossen the worst player on the field while saying Dawson played well, then I guess I don't really care to keep arguing the point. It's pretty much self-evident that you had no idea what you were talking about, then or really ever.

I’m talking about how he played in that game.

Crossen was the worst player on the field. He was targeted over a dozen times and left receivers wide open all night long.

What he brings on special teams, if he makes the team, is irrelevant to how they both play in last nights game.

This is how you show that you know you are wrong. Deflecting a discussion about how they played in last nights game to something else.

Eh, there were several OL that played poorer than Crossen.
You may be right. He stood out though. I’m sure in film grading he was just terrible and probably not the worst on the field. I was speaking from the viewpoint I had.

Understood.

And I’m pretty sure he didn’t do himself any favors with his inconsistent play last night.

I don’t think it made a difference. As a corner he simply doesn’t belong in the league. He showed that last preseason and this preseason. He survives or doesn’t as a special teamer.
No one was surprised he can’t give people. Some posters just want to close their eyes and not see it happening right in front of them.

Gotta love it when an argument spills over from one thread to another. Reminds me of fighting scenes at the end of Blazing Saddles, lmao.

I didn’t see the Dawson thing coming but I’m not surprised.
