He was the 4th option for them, never really understood the signing TBO.
If he wants to go, "where the good Lord split ya"

I don't understand this move. Not to brag, but I knew Polk was a bust in OTAs and said so on the forum then. He looked slow and unathletic, and those deficits completely align with the separation data posted earlier. It is astonishing to me that the Pats picked this guy in the second round. Other teams were laughing at us. Wolf has to go.

Signed 1st week of FA with Thornton, Bourne (IR), Boutte, Pop on roster. $4M per year, 1 year.

Basically, a something is better than nothing deal. The FO ain't rocket science. They needed warm bodies.

c'mon

Douglass and Boutte clearly have higher upsides. Even Thornton has a higher upside.
=======
And considering the 2025--2027 time frame, I would rather have Polk or Baker in next year's camp than Osborne.

I agree. But you have to admit that having Polk and Baker in 2025 camp is depressing.

Thornton? Upside? C'mon.

I'd rather have 3 new WRs.

And a new FO to acquire them.

And new WRCs to train them.

And a new OC to utilize them.

So, even a dumpster fire was better upside. Got it.

What new OC though? It'd be someone who's either been fired or never coordinated, who'd come here and get no help paired up with a terrible HC.

Best way to lure a truly certified offensive mind is with a HC offer.

Cue in the pleas for Ben Johnson.
