Gillmore...exceeded expectations most of the season, but his attitude these past few weeks and his performance against Fitz yesterday definitely tarnish his accomplishments...and take him out of the DPOY discussion without a doubt. So maybe another category...like, "almost but not quite
This is unreal...the guy played one game where he was, like most corners, beaten frequently when on an island against a great receiver.
If the voters have the same sentiment as you, that’s sad. For about 95% of the season he played at the highest level I’ve seen a cornerback play at. If he loses, the Patriots coaching staff deserves to eat a sht sandwich for not changing up such an obviously stupid scheme they didn’t work.
Hopefully the AP voters, and other Patriots fans, can give the guy a pass for one “bad game” whereby he was put in a position where he wasn’t capable of winning and just whipped all day. This happens to pass rushers all the time...they also get beaten and stonewalled, but when a corner is beaten everyone acts like the guy sucks. Such a double standard. Gilmore is easily DPOY and to even suggest he is not an overachiever is like the most narrow tunnel vision I’ve ever seen. Can you remember anything beyond the last 48 hours?
