You are joking right? I am one of the most positive poster on the board and post less negative stuff than just about anything.
The fact remains that Montgomery isn’t any good.
He can play WR, RB and play special teams. We’ll see if he can stay healthy. I think relying on a player with his injury history is dumb but we’ll see if he makes the 53.

You need an umlaut motherfücker (said endearingly). Welcome to the party, pal!

Hope floats!
Jo Jones & Strange back to practice. Onwenu back last week. Wheatley arriving (likely to oust McD & Sow at RT)
As long as Brown stays 100% healthy and motivated, we might be okay. Along with some solid backups on OL to grow.

A bit surprised about Strong - but on the positive side - JJ might actually have a role on this team (depending on MonTy)
And, Zeke better bring something real, we can't have him only be "1yd and a cloud of dust"

Is Calvin Anderson eligible to come back anytime or by week 6??

Seems like we gave C Anderson and R Reif some guaranteed $$$ in FA.

He can’t play any of them well. If he is on the field the team is weak in his spot. The numbers and film more than bear that out.

Let's see if he can stay healthy, I seriously doubt it.

Reiff’s $1.45 million salary is fully guaranteed on top of his $2.7 million signing bonus. Plus, he has $750,000 of game played bonuses to earn.

I read on Twitter a report they were testing Reiff for a MCL sprain on the field. It’s going to be interesting to see what they do with him if this injury is going to cause him to miss some time. Do they just say it didn’t work out, put him on IR or cut him (what’s to grieve; his salary is guaranteed) and open up a spot on the 53 for a Russey or Hines?

Really hoping this is the year "Thanks Dad" Ferentz doesn't make it...bye!

For me the question is what are the chances anyone claims Russey or Hines, after being cut from this mess?

I think the team will be able to keep whomever they wish at offensive line without having to worry about other teams grabbing our discards.

I like Hines and think he could become, at the least, a solid backup at all 3 interior positions. Who knows? It only takes 1 team to make a claim or sweet talk the player into signing onto their PS rather than the Patriots’ PS.

There was a fly buzzing around my house today landing on me whenever I was still. Try as I did I couldn’t squish him or lead outdoors.

James Ferentz is like that fly. He’s just going to be around. I have no problem with it although I’d rather he be the 3rd team C than 2nd team.

Say you cut Russey tomorrow, who is the backup center?

Please don't say Ferentz, and Jake Andrews is pretty raw.

Russey. Nobody is likely claiming Hines or Russey. You said claim players from teams with good OL's. Think someone is drooling for one of ours? If by chance either is claimed the team will just need to deal with Ferrentz.

Look at the numbers. Two new players they traded for, three rookies, plus Brown, Onwenu, Strange, Andrews. That's nine and Reiff stays if he can play anytime reasonable at all since about 6 million is guaranteed, and he didn't look bad at guard. How many will they keep?

You've been saying the line is fine, but it has not been. I know Saturday was preseason, but Bill Murray was the backup OT, and Sow who we will leave aside for the future with different opinions, is far from ready to play in a real game. We're one 30 year old OT who has averaged 10 games a year the last four years away from having zero healthy NFL tackles, unless you want to start weakening other positions. It's a problem even if Anderson came back tomorrow.

This is a bigger issue than worrying about a backup center.

Let’s not because even healthy he is a waste of a roster spot
