I don't think he sucks.. he just can't stay healthy.
He is 30 years old and in the last 4 years combined has produced:

68 carries for 246 yards 3.6 per carry
35 receptions for 227 yards a 6.5 yards per catch.

So if you are interested in about 15 rushing yards and 2 receptions per month and below average yards per then I guess he doesn’t suck.

I get it.. but he's not expected to be any every down back he was projected to be a 3rd down, scat back, out the backfield type of role here. He just hasn't been healthy enough to do so.. however he could end up being cut as well. That would leave harris, zeke, rham.

I understand his role, but he sucks at it.
He had one season in his entire career where he produced anything above subJAG numbers for his role, and that was when everyone else was hurt and he played by default. And it was 7 years ago.

Last year he couldn’t get on the field. The year before he played 300 snaps and totalled 95 receiving yards, 44 rushing yards and made a grand total of 7 first downs, less than one every other game. Less than 1 every 40 snaps.

I hope we don’t go in the season with 2 kickers.
Trade Folk for a pick or more o line or fatty d tackle help.
That’s really all we need.

That tackle by Mapu where he tracks 36 yards and reaches nearly 20 mph to get Tyjae Spears, the Titans rookie RB, tackled is simply marvelous.

There’s a video if it in Lazar’s excellent column: After Further Review: Evaluating Bailey Zappe, Marte Mapu and Others in the Patriots Preseason Finale

I was wrong arguing in the draft forum we should have taken a TE with that pick.

Mapu’s range, explosiveness, violence at the point of contact, and football IQ almost rival that of a young Junior Seau. Simply marvelous.

Except Mapu is freakishly versatile.

What can be done with Mapu will keep OCs and opposing QBs burning the midnight oil. So many possible looks.

It’s truly a nightmare for teams playing the Pats. Best bet is get a big lead and ground and pound.

Getting cute against Mapu will get someone shellacked out there.

I had no idea who the guy was when they drafted him. Watched some film. One play, where he was a dozen or more yards off the LoS stuck out to me. The QB tucked it to run and Mapu reacted so fast, he got the QB right around the LoS. Simply amazing reaction time and acceleration.

Yes, he may look great sometimes, but in reality, you cannot count on him.

Why wouldn’t he use practice to continue to evaluate? Why wouldn’t you want practice squad players at practice?
Maybe they are not practice squad candidates.

This looks like the list of guys that weren’t even in consideration for a practice squad spot.

This was the list I was going to say that were told they were being waived as well. Based on the fact that ***ot was told he was waived.
According to Miguel, Players waived don't clear waivers until Tuesday afternoon. Only vested vets who don't have to clear waivers can go looking somewhere else.
