I’m fine with whatever happens. Was kind of on the fence and can see both the good and the bad that has been brought forth by you guys.

One of the big factors that swayed me was his blocking skills. Obviously he can run routes and catch but he is one of the very best at his position to block. Rhamondre would love that.

Is what it is. Whatever happens, happens.

If the Pats are competing with a team that is offering a first rounder, then the Pats are out of the deal. No way do you give up the first round pick if you are the Pats. It could be a top 3-5 pick.

Now I think the Steelers are crazy to spend that much if they give into the 49er' demands, but you never know.

It sounds like the Steelers haven't been willing to offer that and currently the Pats offer is better.

As others have said, Aiyuk wants to go to Pitt and the 49ers are trying their best to leverage the most out of Pitt.

If they want Pickens in the trade I don't even see what the point is for Pittsburg. There is definitely a gap between Aiyuk and Pickens but nowhere near a big enough gap for them to need to add a first round pick and Pickens.

That’s not a serious request by SF. Remove Pickens and I still wouldn’t do that deal if I am Pitt.
Someone's doing a little PR campaign to try and get the price tag down.

I get that they aren't offering that. They would be crazy to do it. But I still don't think just because Aiyuk wants to go to Pittsburgh that it will definitely happen.

If I am the Steelers, I don't know if I would want Aiyuk at the price it will take to get it. They don't even have a QB who has true QB of the future potential. And don't give me Justin Fields. Sure they have an o-line and a defense, but they may be years from replacing Roethlisberger as the franchise.

Maye may never pan out, but at least the Patriots are trying to get a franchise QB. The Steelers seem to be just content to try to tread water with a washed up QB and a QB who is all hype and very little production.

Lol!! If the Steelers are the team please let this be true. Even if they were sending a 3rd with pickens and friermuth theyd be getting screwed imo
Pickens for Aiyuk straight up would be stupid given the contact status.

EDIT: Actually, I read the tweet too quickly. They probably aren't asking for all of those assets.

IDK, Pickens is more trouble than he is worth most of the time. I don't know if trading him is as big of a deal as some might make it. He almost definitely would not survive on a team with Aiyuk. Can you see Pickens being happy if Aiyuk is the primary receiver and he is getting lesser targets? If the Steelers got Aiyuk, they would have to part ways with Pickens one way or another.

I would be less willing to part with the first rounder if I was the Steelers.

I'd like to see the gap between Aiyuk (or any other super-pricey WR) and Polk and Baker and Douglas before jumping in, personally.

Performance wise maybe, but pickens is a total headcase. I can see wanting to get rid of him but not sending a first or second with him. Maybe not even a 3rd

If I was the Steelers, I would consider parting with a second rounder and Pickens. Pickens would be a major cancer with Aiyuk on the roster. There is no way he would be happy giving up targets to a receiver better than him.

Maybe they want 2 out of the 3.

Buffalo...trade for Stefon Diggs they said, and were going to the Super Bowl.

Miami...trade for Tyreek Hill they said, you'll have the best offense in the NFL and be a shoe in for a Super Bowl.

Las Vegas... get Devante Adams they said and them KC Chiefs better lookout.

New England...might as well engrave the Lombardi now if the Pats land Randy Moss because its ovah.

Just called Aiyuk to Pitt. He doesnt want to be here.

Sounding less and less likely to me. Instead we get more looks for our 2 draft picks to develop, and a bunch of cap space and high draft picks.

The Cap Space I wouldn't hold my breath on anyone taking. People do not want to come to the Post Tom Brady Patriots. You have to hope that at least one of the WR they drafted turn into something.

Any trade where you have to sign the guy to a 25-30 mill contract is shaky and should never include comparable talent as well. Unless it’s the missing piece for a championship you really just set yourself back.
