If that is the legit the Steelers would be insane to make that trade.

It's easy, and only takes a few moments. It sounds like the Steelers haven't been willing to offer that and currently the Pats offer is better. If the Pats are competing with a team that is offering a first rounder, then the Pats are out of the deal. No way do you give up the first round pick if you are the Pats. It could be a top 3-5 pick.
Now I think the Steelers are crazy to spend that much if they give into the Steelers' demands, but you never know.
If they want Pickens in the trade I don't even see what the point is for Pittsburg. There is definitely a gap between Aiyuk and Pickens but nowhere near a big enough gap for them to need to add a first round pick and Pickens. If the Pats are competing with a team that is offering a first rounder, then the Pats are out of the deal. Someone's doing a little PR campaign to try and get the price tag down. That’s not a serious request by SF. Remove Pickens and I still wouldn’t do that deal if I am Pitt.

As others have said, Aiyuk wants to go to Pitt and the 49ers are trying their best to leverage the most out of Pitt.
Pickens for Aiyuk straight up would be stupid given the contact status.Lol!! If the Steelers are the team please let this be true. Even if they were sending a 3rd with pickens and friermuth theyd be getting screwed imo

EDIT: Actually, I read the tweet too quickly. They probably aren't asking for all of those assets.
I'd like to see the gap between Aiyuk (or any other super-pricey WR) and Polk and Baker and Douglas before jumping in, personally. If they want Pickens in the trade I don't even see what the point is for Pittsburg. Maybe they want 2 out of the 3.That’s not a serious request by SF. Remove Pickens and I still wouldn’t do that deal if I am Pitt.

Sounding less and less likely to me. Instead we get more looks for our 2 draft picks to develop, and a bunch of cap space and high draft picks.
Any trade where you have to sign the guy to a 25-30 mill contract is shaky and should never include comparable talent as well. Unless it’s the missing piece for a championship you really just set yourself back.Performance wise maybe, but pickens is a total headcase. I can see wanting to get rid of him but not sending a first or second with him. Maybe not even a 3rd
