The D finally gave us style points tonight. What a performance.

Should be 16.0 PPG if it wasn't for ST and that stupid gifted TD the bills got with like 10 seconds left.

If at the start of the season if you told me the D was allowing 17ppg in Dec I would have taken that in a heartbeat.

If this D plays to their potential and the O or ST doesn't gift a TO deep in their own end, the team should finish under 17ppg.

DEN, NYJ and with Tanny hurt, MIA are all offensively challenged.

they pass the eye test now. seem to be generating more pressure, playing with more emotion, flying to the ball.

the question was if the improvement in the Defense was about the opponents (rams, jets, 9ers) or the patriots defense coming together. and going against a hot Ravens team they showed it was really about the defense.

Not surprisingly, they're also #1 in average point differential. They've scored more and allowed less than the second place team, Dallas.

And if it wasn't for Atlanta going bonkers this year, they'd be within easy striking distance of being #1 in both points scored and points allowed--Pats are only 9 points behind Oakland and the Saints, but way behind the Falcons in points scored.

I don't know when or if that's happened (I know the 2007 Pats were close but ended up like 4th in points against I think), but I'm sure it doesn't happen much.

2001 rams?

Baltimore went from the #1 defense to the #4 total defense in one night.

We almost doubled what their average was but for those who rip our defenses success because of schedule they should look at who Baltimore has played.

Patriots up to 9th in yards 8th in first downs and 6 in rushing d

Well, I might be the only person who cares, but this was bugging me--has any team been #1 in points scored and allowed in the same season? The '85 Bears and a couple of the 80's 49ers teams were #1 and #2.

The only one I found? The '96 Packers. #1 points scored with 456 (28.5 ppg) and #1 points allowed with 210 (13.1). Impressive. Followed that up with blowouts in the playoffs against the 49ers and Panthers.

Makes Parcells being distracted for the Superbowl an even bigger punch, because that game was there for the taking. Would love to go back in time and have that Patriots team be coached by Belichick.

Those things tend to happen when facing The GoAT.

Pats' defense in the 1st 1/2 was terrible. They were much better in the 2nd 1/2.

C-Mart scores to make it 27-21. If Howard is stopped I think they have a great shot to win the game as Drew was in pass mode down 35-21 and Reggie was teeing off on Max Lane when they should have been running Curtis and short throws to Byars, Coates and quick outs to Glenn.

The Packers were a superior team. Very, very good squad and deserving.

With that said, Pats had a window...
