That’s great. I’m actually pretty happy with most of these hiring so far. I’m not sure about the special teams guy and would like to see a few more offensive coaches, but it seems to be coming into shape.

I was warm on Van Pelt prior to the hiring but I actually love it now.
The offense has an identity and a whole new staff.
Still raiding on a wr coach, any day now.
That and Tight Ends is all left unfilled correct?

I think most "former player comes back to coach" hires are overblown but this one is great. Hightower did it all and has so much to teach. I am sure he will lean on Mayo and co. a bit as he gets a grasp on the coaching game but I have to think he'll do amazing. Look at how Vrabel did, and Mayo is the current HC... Quite a pedigree here for former Belichick Pats LBs.

Also good to see a great player get hired as a position coach (I.e. their playing experience being a credit) instead of the assistant to the assistant or quality control.

Yes... Vinnie Sunseri joined Steve B at the U of Washington as the DBs coach...


As for the Hightower hire, guy was a smart football player... Hope that translates well to coaching the position... it's a positive addition to the staff

Wonder if they are going to split outside/inside backers like BB did
