Patriots' Hernandez questioned by police in homicide probe

FWIW, the article says:

Hernandez is not believed to be a murder suspect, according to a source, but a vehicle rented in his name has emerged as a key piece of evidence in the investigation.

And ABC "helpfully" adds:

Massachusetts investigators plan to interview New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez in connection the murder of a man police call an "associate" of player No. 81, ABC News has learned.

Hernandez's jersey number is 81.

All I can say is sucks for the person who died but hope that if Hernandez isn't involved in any actual murder that also nothing else incriminating was happening. Such as drug stuff.

I hope it has nothing to do with him period. Just being involved in any such case is gonna get him suspended.

Goodell has a lot less latitude on handing out suspensions for drug use than for other off-the-field issues.

I'd like the extent of it to be that somone borrowed the car that he was renting, then killed someone without his knowledge. Even if that is the extent of this, you can bet that the media will probably jump all over, and mis-report, it.

What??????

The commish is a nazi and has suspended people simply by being involved with shady situations.

Pretty sure Big Ben was suspended for being involved in a crime he was never charged with.

Hopefully, Hernandez has had no knowledge of this incident, including not receiving any phone calls from the individual who is suspected of this crime.

Jetdell will find a reason to suspend Hernandez for this. Jetdell will ask Rex Ryan what the punishment will be then proceed.

I presume you mean after the fact? (Since if they suspect whoever Hernandez rented it for, it's rather likely he has had contact in the past. . . .)

KDP: cute sig, but could you cut out all the black space there?

Before and after the fact in case this was pre-meditated.

Just read the ABC link as well that you posted. This is certainly not good.

Way way way waaaay too early, but if above is true likely worst case scenario maybe obstruction charges, which probably would net a suspension from the Ginger Hammer and then a multi-million dollar ESPN contract post-retirement.

Didn't see it mentioned in this thread, but article I read said body was found near his home.

Obstruction?

He has the right to say and do nothing. Until someone with actual authority makes him do anything he's doing the right thing.

Really Aaron, hope its not bad but it sounds bad.
