Patriots' Hernandez questioned by police in homicide probe

Hernandez doesn't need to look far for legal help. Apparently many of his fans are the new Dream Team.

Ummm.. At this point, he hasn't been charged with jaywalking yet. Let's bring back the death penalty in Mass and fry him and then wait to see if the police want to charge him.

At this point, he isn't even an official suspect yet. Heck, the death hasn't even been ruled a homicide yet. At least not officially.

I know this has ZERO to do with this all but I know for a fact that AH loves the green. I probably shouldn't even be saying this here but last year (after the season, some time in March) I was at a club in NYC called Greenhouse. Somehow I ended up standing right next to Hernandez who was there partying. He was smoking a blunt and had his boy next to him with him rolling it up for him. I was a bit surprised. Its a trendy club full of that kind of stuff, so its not uncommon there at all...but still.

THat said, he's not the smartest guy in the world and clearly doesn't make the best decisions. I really hope he's not involved in this in any capacity but it really doesn't look good. We cannot afford to lose another weapon.

Both Gronkowski and Hernandez are huge football talents but both appear to be dumb as a box of rocks......you could probably put the brains of these guys in a bird and it would fly backwards.

These guys could both be major pieces to a championship team IF they both remained healthy AND IF they grew up to be men and not boys.

It's a shame thier huge contracts haven't changed them much, although Gronk is more injured and healing than being a party boy now,Hernandez future appears simply scary at this time.

The thoughts of a possible passing offense consisting of NO Gronkowski,No Welker and No Hernandez to start the season is frightening...at least we already knew Welker was gone but.....

I don't know if i ever remember in all my years watching the NFL if a team went into its next season missing its starting 2 TEs,its starting WR and its Long ball threat (even though Lloyd came up short of a true threat) from less than a year ago unless it was a team in total rebuild or an expansion franchise of course.

Lets hope Hernandez is not a missing piece in September

We have Tom Brady. Further, our situation has been worse. Finally, the lack of both TEs and Welker will force our existing pieces to develop faster, only Gronkowski may not be replaceable (but we went to a Superbowl without him).

I'm sorry, did I mention Tom Brady.

Brady isn't getting any younger.....at his age you need important pieces around him.....the days of Tom carrying the team on his shoulders arent lasting much longer.

A better and respected Defense, not solely Brady will be an indicator of how far the 2013 Pats can go

The victims death has officially been ruled a homicide.

Heck, the death hasn't even been ruled a homicide yet. At least not officially.

It has been ruled a homicide officially, but it was treated as a homicide right off the bat, judging by the 20 police cars that showed up on Hernandez's front lawn.

OK, now it has.

The death of a 27-year-old Dorchester man found near the home of Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez is being ruled a homicide, the Bristol district attorney announced tonight.

The DA said autopsy results ruled the death of Odin L. Lloyd, 27, was homicide

Lloyd, a semi-pro football player, was found Monday in an industrial park in North Attleboro located less than a mile from the sprawling Hernandez home.

Investigators in the case are casting a dragnet from North Attleboro to Dorchester in search of a silver mirror cover they believe broke off a car. They did not explain the significance of the item but said it might be visible from a roadway.

Birds are pretty smart creatures overall. I'd assume that proposed transplant would be rejected.

AH needs to get Talib's lawyer on the phone ASAP.

Week 1 Worst Case:

TE1: Ballard
TE2: Sudfeld
WR1: Amendola
WR2: Dobson
WR3: Jenkins

Time to pound the rock.....

I am not sure where you are going with this but one Miranda's rights don't exist until there is a custodial interrogation . . . prior to that point an individual does not have any Miranda's rights . . .

and as such, and my point for the 35th time, any actions or statements made by a individual are not covered under Miranda . . . actions are admissible in a court of law and statements made, in this Commonwealth, need to be proven by the commonwealth to be voluntary (our humane practice rule) and then they come in . . .

so if one is nonresponsive before CI, its comes in . . .

I was 'going' to see what your response was because I was curious about your mindset, nothing more. Part of Miranda is the right to remain silent, and the plurality decision didn't specify exactly what one had to say to invoke one's rights. You jumping right into the answer you gave is all that I needed to know.

that cant be good....

On the positive side, the article says he was distancing himself from the bad element. It could be that Lloyd was some kind of message from this element or caught in the crossfire.

A determination of whether a defendant is “in custody” for Miranda purposes depends on the “totality of circumstances.” California v. Beheler, 463 U.S. 1121, 1125, 103 S.Ct. 3517, 77 L.Ed.2d 1275 (1983).

you're outta your friggin' gourd...WHAT???..smart??? I KNOW birds...and I can tell YOU right now, Mr. Ternscribe, most of them are almost as dumb as I am!!!...

Police are asking for the assistance of the public in recovering this driver's side mirror (picture attached) which is believed to be somewhere between Dorchester and N. Attleboro. It is presumed that the mirror came off the car that was rented in Hernandez's name.

This seems to lend more credence to the theory that Lloyd was seeking to get away from Dorchester, perhaps because of a drug deal gone bad.

Why we never developed a moot court forum is beyond me. We could have a judge-moderator, then you guys could call witnesses from among the great unwashed to be witnesses to what's in today's presser or news report, and occasionally object and whatnot. Ooh also you could select 12 members to determine who won each argument ahead of time. That could be a whole thread, jury selection for each argument.

(no personal objection to the legal bickering... just having fun with the idea.)

the problem with that idea is that if I'm the first witness called, the resulting trial will end up in chaos...you see, I'm an agenda driven pathological liar who absolutely descends into psychosis if threatened with losing an argument...in other words, par for the course here at Patsfans...
