Passing of the tourch.

well two things, one congrats on the win and two I think its now painfully obvious that the torch has been passed at qb to mahomes. maybe not as a team yet but at QB it was painfully clear.
It finally dawned on me, here is where you are confused: Brady torched your team's defense by passing the ball. He was not "passing the torch" to Mahoney. Make sense now?

Wait, guys—did the *tourch* get passed yet? Just checking on the status.

I believe it was just passed. You need five fingers to hold it, and Brady no longer has room on his second hand with his sixth ring.

It's funny how far away the AFC Championship already seems. Distant memory. Chief were a small speed bump on the way to another Super Bowl win. Thankfully we have NFL Films and a video series called Three Games to Glory to remind us of those games in case we forget.

We have six entries in that production by the way. If the Chiefs ever win something they can come up with their own nifty title like "three tourches to the light of the holy land" or something similarly awesome.

If Mahomes has the guts to say that that contract they're offering him is too much (since it'll cripple their cap) and gives back some of it to make sure they get to keep their other top level talents, I'll start believing the hype about the kid.

That's something Brady's always been willing to do: see the bigger picture and take less to win more.

Now I'm looking forward to the NFL Top 100 player countdown. Sneaking suspicion that Tom Brady is voted number 1 (for the third straight year) ahead of sideshow Bob. These are just the players voting though, what do they know?

I have nothing against the idea of players voting or ranking Tom up high, but from my NBA observations I can tell that players are generally poor with those rankings. I don't have examples at hand, but I think Kam Chancellor was ranked in 2017 only on reputation.

When it comes to passing the to(u)rch, our QB just had very good playoffs, solid play with few risks and stunning clutch performance in AFCCG. Hopefully we'll get HOVG caliber receiver next season, not that Brady needs Tyreek Hills and Kareem Hunts, but it'd be nice to have one.

*UPDATE* HE, the one they call the GOAT is still here...no torch has been passed

The Tourch has been passed by another AFC QB and I'm sure Mahomes will guard it carefully in his annual representation of the AFC in the Pro Bowl. He'll be free that week.

Isn't the voting in December?

Wouldn't be surprised if he is way down the list.^^

Thanks for the congrats.

But I still don’t think you know what passing the torch means.

We’ll see re Mahomes overall. I’m not sold that he will be playing at an MVP level next year. I think he was exposed a bit, being shut out in the first half at home in the conference championship and you know other teams will be watching to see what the Super Bowl champs did to slow his offense down.

I think he was talking about the participation torch or the varsity jacket torch

Your posts make so much sense now, as you mentioned “painfully” twice while describing the tourch passing process. Your hand is Brady, and your assh0le is Mahomes. Now we can finally make sense of it all.

Brady (your hand) sticks a large burning tourch into your assh0le (Mahomes), which is a very painful experience. Based on the number of times you’ve said this, I’ll be surprised if you can ever **** again. Or maybe that’s why **** keeps coming out of your mouth?

If you get over your obsession/depression, I hope you can make it to Gillette next year to watch the Chiefs lose again to the Patriots. I’m sure you’ll be easy to identify. Just stay away from us though...the **** coming out of your mouth can cause e.coli and, clearly from your message board obsession as a troll from the LOSING team, brain damage as well. I’m guessing it lowered your IQ from 14 to 6? Come to think of it, we have as many championships with Brady (the QB, not your hand) as you have IQ points. Wow - 6 rings! What a time to be alive for a Patriots fan!!!

Too bad the last time the Chiefs won a SB, RCF wasn’t a twinkle is his daddy’s eye.

funny thing about this tread is that I have not once became belligerent with you or called you names as so many of you have done to me.

I am happy for you and its very impressive what your team has accomplished. I'm not sad or depressed or anything of the sort.

My point is that its as if you guys had a great run and it was a lot of fun, having a great QB and head coach and this was the last chapter in the glory years.

My point was that they year you could see the torch being passed to Mahomes, I mean pretty much all of the analysts on ESPN, NFL network etc all say the same thing. I'm happy for you guys and its a little window into what we have coming our way over the next 15 plus years.

Its crazy that you don't see that "strckly at QB" the torch was passed this year. nothing to do with who won or lost just overall eye test. Great year this year!

Or Mahomes never wins a ring and you guys are left scratching your head wondering why..

I think the issue a lot of people have is with your sense of entitlement with your young buck.

We get it, he's good, be proud. But coming over here talking about torches being passed and expectations over the next 15 years.. gtfo dude.

Enjoy your new label as "Contender" and see if your team can even make the playoffs next year.

Win something, anything, then talk about torches and expectations.
