Panthers to snag Watson?

This is the time of year that La Canfora shines. He gets to tell us so many things that have a slim chance of happening, and there are no consequences when those things don’t happen.

Interesting thought, it's honestly hard to say.
However I don't think Carolina nor Miami realistically believes they have a strong chance at winning anything this year.

Carolina has an outside chance of getting a wild card if they turn around their season quickly. They are currently within half a game of the final wild card. The Dolphins probably would probably have win at least eight of their last ten games (and more realistically nine of their last ten) which isn't happening with or without Watson

Watson won’t play this year but he will next year. Thanks to McCAffrey’s outstanding durability, Carolina’s chances of the playoffs are slipping away fast. When healthy CMac is one of the funnest players to watch though. It was a good comeback story with Darnold but it fell short.

Would be interesting if Houston lands Darnold, McCaffrey and Gilmore. I think Carolina would be stupid to do it, I know franchise qb’s dont grow on trees but not sure I’d want him as the face of my franchise.

A 1st and .mcafetry?

How do you say no? Watson is gone from the conference and mcaferty has a few years left.

Houston would be crazy to take that deal.

Gilmore is old and broken. Mcaferty is stop gap for a few years. Darnold isn't the answer at any teams QB vacancy.

Watson is worth at least a 1st even though he is dire straits. Nobody will care about his legal issues 2 years from now. Someone new will be in the hot seat.

I don't see hi

The article said Houston likes Carolinas young defensive talent.
So I don't see Houston wanting Gilmore.
If anything Carolina parts with Brian Burns and or Jaycee Horn.
Let me just say if Houston gets Burns Horn and McCaffrey he is fleecing the Panthers.
And at this point my draft binkie has more upside than Darnold and costs pennies on the cap so Houston is better off betting on their Davis Mills.

I hope Watson goes to Miami (because IMHO the loss of all those draft choices should torpedo the Fins for years, although I know many don’t agree). But trading for Watson makes zero sense for a team like Miami where virtually every position (e.g., defense at all levels, OL, RB) is a dumpster fire except for so-so recent play from QB recently and maybe WR they get healthy.

I think it would be a mistake for Carolina also but at least they fit the mold of a team with some pretty decent pieces that is a QB away, from Wildcard contention at least. Plus Carolina isn’t talking about 3 first round picks and some seconds like Miami, that price sounds insane.

I feel sorry for Darnold. We may never know what he might have become.

If Watson has 20+ misconduct allegations with the women in Houston, could you imagine how many he’d have with the women in Miami?

I don't think so but I see why some people do. He will play and it won't be too long. He's guilty of taking out his private part trying to pick up girls. If they had more than that he would of been brought in. Say he doesn't play this year I think it's still worth it. Who knows how it will shake out though and you are right there is some risk because the NFL is so unpredictable in how it does business.

That is sooo wrong:

Of the 10 criminal complaints that had been filed against Watson as of last month, three allege sexual assault, defined in Texas as nonconsensual penetration. This is a second-degree felony.

He won't play unless he gets cleared of those charges, and if he gets busted, he'll be totally off the board.

Those people who made that trade are no longer with the Texans. Nick Caserio is running the show now.
Ownership signed off on the deal. Same ownership
