Packer fans are attempting a mass boycott. Will you join?

Sorry Patti, you ask too much. I will be watching my Patriots on Sunday.A bad, frustrating football game is still better than no football at all.

Now it would be awesome if those at the game, stayed out of the stadium for the first quarter. That would send a message like no other.

It's nice to yell for a boycott but,I don't know what the fans who want to boycott want to see happen. The NFL cave in to all the points the Ref's want including making refs be in shape to keep up with the game?

That is one of the issues, it's not all about money.

Count me in, I won't attend the Packers/Saints and won't take the night off to watch it.

Hopefully the lockout will be over by Sunday because this is a big game against the Bills.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

With that attitude of yours, however, I suspect you'd fit right in on any Jets boards.

No way. JETS fans have been letting their own team abuse them for 42 years and counting and they can't even muster their own boycott because hope floats down the Hudson every time ownership waves a top 5 draft pick or entertaining HC or new OC or QB at them.

The very continued existence of JETSfans underscores the futility of inciting even the generic football fan demographic to boycott a bad product.

Packer fans who are also owners should consider boycotting their team based on it's performance over the last 4 games anyway.

I'll be watching any game that I please. I support those who want to boycott, but I have to admit that I won't be doing it. I love football regardless if the replacement officials and the league office is destroying it's integrity right now.

After the game, though, I intend to write a very stern and strongly worded letter to the commissioner's office. I shall give it to my courier and have him deliver it in person on his steed.

I sympathize with the Packers. The NFL then rubs it in their face saying it was pass interference, but we're going to support the refs on the simultaneous catch. Give me a break.

The sad part is I bet ratings are going to be higher and higher with the referee circus being its own event within the game. I don't normally watch games other than the Patriots, but I feel inclined to watch these prime time games that get the largest audience to showcase the ineptitude of these referees.

The only way ratings would decline is if the players strike and we had replacement players to play with the replacement officials. Imagine? They cannot strike due to the CBA. What I would like to see is two teams agree to knee out an entire game in protest of player safety. Leaving the game in a dead tie.

The players can strike if they feel that their safety is jeopardized, which they could definitely argue.

Boycott the games?? NO WAY......why punish ourselves?

Gwedd mentioned boycotting the pro shop. Now we're talking. I think a total boycott of all NFL merchandise could be quite effective. Possibly throw in boycotting "official" NFL products, goods and services and I think that would get the attention of NFL headquarters and ownership.

Anyone with me?

How could we spread the word?

Watching our team constantly get jobbed IS a punishment. For me anyway.

Watching other teams get jobbed is somewhat entertaining in a "shaking my head in disgust" kind of way. But the fact is, the weather here is beautiful now and I think my health would be better benefitted from playing outside than watching confusion and incompetence inside.

This type of thing is all over the social medias.
The Voice of The Fan: FVP: Boycott the NFL movements begin to gain momentum.

I tend to agree. I can boycott the Thursday night game, piece of cake. However, I suspect come 1pm Sunday, I'll have my backside in front of my TV with the clicker in one hand, beer in the other. Even if I get talked into taking the kids apple picking, the DVR will be set.

I am all over supporting the boycott and I am all to happy to fan the flames on my site, I just dunno about tuning out myself.

Just a bump in the road...

FWIW SNF and MNF dominated the ratings again this week and ESPN will soon be shifting gears and calling for an extended lockout as it's SportsCenter after the game was an all time record setter.

Reality TV.

NFL ratings will likely go up, not down, this weekend | ProFootballTalk

This shows the futility of those hardcore fans determined not to watch "some other teams". One more time, TV ratings will likely increase but even if they dip the TV contract is signed. Plenty of time for the owners to complete their quest vs the refs this season and offer a new, we'll trained Div 1 set of replacements next summer.

Those determined to do something that actually would have an impact need to consider NOT buying any NFL team merchandise, no All 22 NFL packages, and forego buying any food or drink at the stadium. This has an immediate impact on an owners' revenue stream, unlike a TV boycott which does not and is not noticed unless you're a Neilsen rating account anyway.

That said, in my opinion the owners have decided to risk taking a big hit on the brand short term (they hope) to achieve a long term gain in mastery of the refs, where they can fire refs they deem deficient. It's an 11 figure business and they believe that they can't let a small group of employees affect the product out of their control.
