It's easy, and only takes a few moments.I agree with you Ken, but this is also a problem on the other side of the political aisle. It is quite difficult in our age for someone with conservative political beliefs to gain a tenured faculty position at an elite university. Surveys of faculty at such institutions show overwhelming (like 90 percent) preference for the left.Kapernick was a very good QB when he first entered the league
He did very well (1 superbowl appearance where he excelled in a loss, and one NFCCG where he also did well in a loss) He was fortunate to be developed in an offense that specifically suited his skill set. There is no question that when NFL defenses started to catch up to that offense he didn't respond and adapt. It is also true that during the same time his performance declined, so too did the rest of the SF organization declined too.
There is no question that his skill level, even during his last year with SF qualifies him to be among the 90 odd QB jobs that exist in the NFL. So I ask a few questions to to those wh.o would keep him from working strictly for his political beliefs.
Has there ever been a quote from Kapernick where he ruled out any job because he he wouldn't be guaranteed a starting position. I cant recall any, but its been used several times in this tread.
I recognize that Kapernick's skills aren't a good mix for certain offensive systems, like the one we have here in NE. But there ARE several where his skill set could be of value. Seattle, Carolina, and Houston to name 3 of the top of my head, would all be better teams with Kapernick on the roster, as well as Buffalo, the Jets, and Browns.
BTW- it should also be noted that the read- option offense that he did so well with, has had a bit of a resurgence around the league. (ie KC, Houston).
BOTTOM LINE- Colin Kapernick was never a good fit (schematically) with the Pats. So I doubt he was even a conversation over the past 9 months. However, there is no doubt that he SHOULD have been a serious consideration on several teams.
That being said, I find it repugnant that anyone can be kept from working simply because you don't like his peaceful political opinion. If it can be done to Kapernick then it can be done to everyone else. I don't look forward to an America where you have have to give up your right to an opinion in order to get a job. But the truth is that THAT is what we are gradually moving toward.
You say '91 QB Rating' like it's some amazing number. It would be 24th in the league, currently. His 59.1% Completions would be 40th. 5 Fumbles to go along with those 4 INTs is 9 turnovers in 11 games.Right. HE had a 1-10 record. It had NOTHING to do with the rest of the team, or the organization, it was him that had a 1-10 record. I certainly don't think he's great, but it's instructive that you don't note his 16-4 TD-INT ration, or his 91 quarterback rating. No, HE was 1-10.
5. 5 years earlier. And has never played anywhere approaching that level since then. They indicate that the team might just possibly have had other, worse problems than the QB who was good enough to take them to the Super Bowl a few years earlier.
Let us say that the top 5 owners let it be know that it would damage the NFL if he were hired, perhaps even saying that the president might punch them. BTW, the tax treatment of stadium funding has been made much worse for the NFL.
This should be collusion, especially if everyone complied.
So let me get this straight, a guy with a 1-10 record as a starting quarterback LAST YEAR is suing the NFL because he is believes his unemployment is due to reasons outside of his playing abilities?
He was very good the next year and pretty good the year after that.5. 5 years earlier. And has never played anywhere approaching that level since then.

Also, 1-10 and was benched in favor of Blaine Gabbert. And it wasn't because of kneeling. Also, he opted out of his contract.
Poor conduct. When did he beat a woman or get involved in a drug bust? Plenty of guys who did one, or the other or both are still employed by the league. You don't LIKE his conduct because you don't like his politics. That doesn't mean it's poor conduct.he has poor conduct to go along with years of poor performance. What more do you need not to hire a guy?
So what's the explanation for not taking a backup role? Seattle offered it to him did they not?He opted out in the same way that you get "asked to resign" so your boss doesn't have to give you **** afterward.

Certainly with one on this arm.For the sake of arguement, if a player with the exact same skillset had a swastika tattoo on his forehead does anyone think that guy would have a job?
