Perhaps I can see why Green, Burgess and LeKevin Smith are looking good to us.

I don't get why everyone keep wanting to "get younger" or have "an infusion of youth". THESE GUYS ARE ALL YOUNG. That's why they are all unproven. Granted, Crable has struggled to stay healthy and Woods hasn't stepped up but they did attempt to "go young" the last couple years.
The preferred number would be zero.
Seven replacements is a lot of players, but I tend to agree than zero would be preferred.
I would actually be fien keeping Woods as a special teamer. Two of our nine linebackers are usually specialt teamers first.
I'd prefer to keep Ninkovich, as well.
I don't really get what the big deal is. Every team has similar JAGs at the bottom of their roster.
OK, let we state it a different way. Our starting OLB's are Banta-Cain and Ninkovitch. Our backups are Crable and Woods. Thomas is on the way out. This is certainly the worst set of OLB's of any playoff team.
Wright is a starting RDE. Our backups are Grady and Richard.
That is a sorry state of affairs.

That was my thought, also. Most of those guys are only on a roster while it has 80 spots.I'd prefer to keep Ninkovich, as well.

But Ninkovich played well. Not a probowler, but respectable depth, as good or better than the average league non-starting LB. I don't want to give up on Crable too soon. His first "IR" was a shin injury and I thnk BB simply red-shirted him. One legitimate season ending injury is no biggie. Ben Watson started his career by going on IR his first year (first game, in fact, right? vs the Colts?)
