Brian Hoyer was the best QB today “. That is the LAST time you will ever hear that!

One of the biggest reasons for the Patriots past success is making an opposing offense to continuously string together long drives (multiple plays) through moving the ball well, but make the attainment of actual points (those things that are required to rack up the win) difficult. In that light, it's those key plays that truly define the QB, not the ability to function when there's much less pressure and expectation. That's where the measurement of a QB should be - in the point producing moments - and there...sorry to disagree, but Hoyer is indeed canine excrement.Hoyer shouldn't be in discussion for week 1 starter unless something has gone horribly wrong, but he's not total dog crap either. We all just remember those Very Bad Plays.
Hari kari is an act versus a place...Americanized it was a (usually drunk) baseball announcer (Harry Caray) that also did a little karaoke in the 7th inningIs that "here" anywhere close to Hiroshima? I was stationed at MCAS Iwakuni, about 40 clicks south down the coast...
Good read.Curran: Why Jones' ‘struggle' is cause for optimism and not concern
The feedback on Mac Jones from OTAs this week has been up and down. As Tom E. Curran writes after watching him in person in Foxboro, it’s a good thing to see him struggle this early in the process.www.nbcsports.com
That's actually the FIRST time I've ever heard that. That is the LAST time you will ever hear that!
Good read.
I like Mac’s confidence for publicly admitting his struggle‘s to adjusting to NFL level offenses. I think to fix a problem, one has to admit, seek help and do everything required to improve.
Certainly he's not good, I'm just positing that he's not worthless. If you could get him to at least not commit those awful mistakes in the red zone, even if you stall out, you'll hopefully get 3 points for your troubles and you've gotta lean on your defense. Being able to move it between the 30s is still something, though it's a bit of a low bar to clear. Hence why he shouldn't be the starter unless something goes very wrong,I'm not sure I can agree. There is a lot of precedent to back that up too besides just the KC game that he can manage a game between the 30 yard lines, but when it matters...uhhhh, not so much.
That's what she saidThis D is loaded on all three levels.
Hey, you never know when a fair catch kick might be needed (*cough* should have tried it in SB 51 *cough*)....
It’s a free kick very similar to a kickoff (with a holder instead of a tee), not a placekick. He was nailing his kickoffs that day.Ghost missed an extra point and very nearly missed a field goal in that game already so lmao at sending him out there to kick from over 70 yards away.
I think Mac is taking the same approach he did at Bama. Take what the defense gives you, protect the ball and only start to push things downfield when you have the familiarity you need in the offense to do it effectively. He didn't throw picks in practice either from what I've heardI like reading that Mac is consistently dumping the ball off. Taking the easy yards is what made our offense under Brady special. We already know Mac can push the ball down the field as seen with the bama 1st rnd wrs.

You clearly don't understand the part where it was stated that LaFleur was giving him "the easiest defenses" to go against. Having a ton of reps doesn't mean jack if your throwing without even simulated pressure.,Florio. Lol. Love is getting ALL the reps last I read to get him as ready as possible to be the starter week 1. He is not being coddled.
Sorry not sorry that honest non-homerism triggers you so.
Harry was leading the team with a 3.7 yard cushion in terms of getting open. Maybe you should stop the BS rhetoric and deal with reality. Or is that asking too much of you?in some of the german speaking areas in europe you use it to describe some
haphazard action or not well thought through idea, often including a good portion of risk that it will go against your favour (like playing Harry and expecting him to get open )
From what I have been reading, it sounds like he was missing things, but the defense was also throwing some different looks his way - not “exotic” necessarily but certainly not vanilla stuff. So to me it seems sort of encouraging in a way, if they’re trying to test him this early.Checking down, in general, is fine. But the "why" of it is important. If he's checking down because players are all covered, it's the right thing to do. But, if he's checking down because things are still moving too fast for him, and he's missing reads and/or open receivers, as the media seems to be telling us, that's a sign that his brain is not yet up to speed.
And, that's not fine, though it's not something people should be surprised or panicking about in the middle of June, either.
