Low's gotta have a helluva camp to win one of the backup Tackle jobs (yes I believe they will - or at least Should - keep 4 OTs)...Winning a starting job appears unrealistic, if not metaphysically impossible.
How likely is that that Anderson is really healthy to play at an NFL level or that one of the four is injured before Game One? Lowe started several games last year. We certainly HOPE that the three other LT competitors will beat out Lowe, but it isn' a lock.

I think that we have Onwenu, Okorafor, Anderson and Wallace as the likely 4 OT's, but it certainly isn't a lock.

I don’t know the timeline but I think Anderson has been in the gym and healthy for a while now. IMO he’s 100% ready to roll.

Sorry guys but this entire thread is meaningless and will be completely forgotten by August.

Maybe you can get a feel for the relative athletism of the players but that's it. Trying to project talent on the OL during a noncontact padless practice is impossible.

These OTA's are mainly about learning a brand new offense, working on footwork, and team building. I find all this detailed coverage and the overreaction to it a waste of time.

Real analysis of this team doesn't start until they put on the pads in AUGUST. The 6 pages of comments are us just passing time until the pads go on.

I just cannot see Lowe even making the 53 from what he has done so far with the Pats. Maybe the blocking scheme will change that but I have my doubts. I think it’s between Chuks and Anderson at LT.

I agree.. I think Lowe is headed for the PS if not outright cut. When the Pats traded for him last year, he'd been playing LT for Minnesota exclusively. Just like his prior 6 years (College & Pro). Unfortunately, he had the warts of not being able to play RT. Not to mention the lack of a position coach..

We'll see what camp brings.

I think this is right. But until I see it working on the field, the choice of Chuks or Anderson as the starting LT does not fill me with a ton of confidence.

Chuks at LT. Lord have mercy. We are screwed.

What happened to Wallace switching from RT as a rookie? We finally agree that was a pipe dream?

The goal is to find the best fit for the best players…which position they will play. I wasn’t in on the pipe dream thing it seems but it’s still only June.

Chuks and Wallace will not develop quick twitch muscles between June and September. Opposing EDGE rushers screaming around the left side of the line all are quick twitch muscle guys. Anderson can handled the speed rushers, so let's hope he is healthy!!!

Fast twitch like Trent Brown? Ok

Yes. Trent Brown is amazingly quick for his size and reach.
Brown really had a great year when he went to the Pats from the 49ers where he started at RT almost 2 full seasons. He’s about as fast twitch as Robert Kraft…big dude though.

So it seems some players can switch from the right to the left and be successful.

The speed rushers, mostly, go around the left outside and circle back in. The LT either has to have quick feet or a long reach with big hands (or both but that is uncommon). T Brown's feet are quick enough for his size/reach but that surprised people so he was a 7th round pick. But T Brown had conditioning issues and that is why the 9ers let us sign him. Usually top tackles are not available in FA.

Boutte was awesome at LSU and has shown flashes of brilliance. Made some dumb decisions, but also ended up in BB dog house and I think he could have helped us more …..we shall see….this is his year to prove it….starting out tremendously in TC!
Which flashes of brilliance were those? He caught two balls on 7 targets) in five games.

Thats some of the silliest commentary you've ever offered up.

I think Gonzo & Austin would be great duo for starting CB. J Jones is best at Slot Corner, with Marcus as backup.
Austin isn't timed very fast, but in the eye test, he has all the tools, starting with being long and physical.
Bolden might overtake him if everything goes right.

I'm firmly on the fence about Aiyuk. On one hand, we could really use a legit #1. We have the cap space. Even if dumping JSS costs, Brandon would be FAR better than Parker & JSS. Especially since it's likely Bourne won't be ready out of the gate.

On the other hand, I don't know how Aiyuk is as a teammate, and since he's not a rare speed guy, would he just hinder Polk & Baker's development? Are we at the place as a team that we don't want a "big name" offensive talent to disrupt the organic growth that simply has to develop?

Also Marco Wilson might be a starter option. In 2022 he had 10 PD’s with 3 Int’s. He’s seen a lot of action with the Cardinals and just 25 y/o.
