I have no idea why Jacksonville would make this move, unless Mac Jones has somehow made them believe he can be their guy moving forward...?

They can get Mac the Knife. I’ll vouch for him.

Geez this is interesting, my guess Is they like someone better to run that offense doubt its Mac, maybe they are going after Fields, or the backup in Tampa.

I don't think the Jags could trade Lawrence at this point even if they wanted to. If they traded him before June 1, they would take an additional $83 million cap hit in 2025. They are only $32 million under the cap.

I think Lawrence is overrated and grossly overpaid, but I don't see the Jags trading him this year for any reason even if the cap wasn't a major roadblock. They will want at least one year under Coen to see if he can live up to anywhere close to his pre-draft expectations.

I think this is the kind of move that could get a lot of people in Pitt fired.

Didn't he just get paid? Probably not even feasible.

Only way this works is if Jacksonville has someone else they are in love with. Aaron Rodgers?

There is no way JAX would do this.
Maybe not. But Lawrence is a mediocre QB. He maybe a sliver above average, but he's not winning anything for you. It's been four years so they are close to the point where they have to accept that he's not the guy they thought he was when they drafted him.

Sam Darnold just had a season that the Jags would have killed for, and nobody is batting an eye at the idea he might not be there next year.

He is above average. Needs more talent around him.

I dont think JAX wants that much dead money on the books without a competent QB on the roster

Big armed QB like Ben R that would work for Pitts.

What are you taking about Jax's is stacked especially on O they just need a competent HC.

Mac is an unrestricted free agent. If they really liked him wouldn't we have heard as much by now?

I don’t see how this is good for either team, is he even better than russel Wilson at the moment ? Just younger but way more expensive.

Jacksonville maybe if they are really feeling buyers remorse and get a nice haul, but imagine theyll swallow a bunch of dead cap
