OT: Raiders WR Henry Ruggs fatal suspected DUI crash; (update: Desean Jackson to replace him on Raiders…lol)

The tragic irony is that this guy's nickname and official shirt (which I won't post here) is "Speed kills".

Omfg…how long until laughing at the irony becomes less shameful?

Wonder if vegas inquirers about cooks now?

Why is it that it always seems like the POS drunk walks away without a scratch but the other person/people involved suffer life changing - if not life ending - injuries??
They don’t tense up prior to impact.

This is a very sad story. I echo the sentiments of posters pointing out all the other options he - as an NFL player - had to get home…. Don’t they literally have a # to call in every city ?
Uber?

Stupid ****.

Have fun in jail for the next 5-10 watching your career fly by and losing your last dime to the family of the woman you killed.

This crime has a minimum of 2 years without probation. A maximum of 20.

He’s done in the NFL.

Because the driver's compartment is the primary focus of the protective measures of the vehicle.

Checked the Raiders forums and they're more concerned about their season and Ruggs's career than the fact that a guy they root for just killed somebody.
Raiders fans should be ashamed, but I doubt they are. At least we had the decency to shun "he who cannot be named".

Jesus, take a cab, YOUR ARE IN VEGAS! there is literally a million of them.

No excuse for driving drunk, especially driving at the speed necessary to create that sort of impact.

Cab, Uber, Lyft, call your agent or the team and have them send someone. The possibilities are endless. And now, because he chose not to do any of those things, people are dead. He’s going to spend a long, long time in prison. He was in a life-changing situation and looking at a big pay day to change his and his family’s future due to his God-given talent. And now that’s swirling down the toilet.

If he gets two years, maybe not. Look at Michael Vick.

True, but to be fair, there are generally more things that can hurt the driver than there are for the other passengers.

Crazy thing is, when he scores a TD, he flashes 3 fingers to signify #3, who was his best friend and wore #3. His best friend died in a car accident.

I never understood how something like this could happen. These football players have millions, if you’re hammered, get a cab, call an Uber. What a horrendous story. Mindless, selfish move on his part. My thoughts go out to the family of the person who died.

suspended for a season by the NFL, play2d two more full seasons in the NFL, and finished his career, returning to the Pats for a partial season
