    I prefer steep inclines.

And I always have, from the first day I set foot in the old Boston Garden.

Makes you feel like you're on top of the action. Give me a thin tall building anyday.

I havent been here long, but long enough to realize that whenever Double G loosens the strap on his helmet, wipes the slober away, and finds a Colts post on here, it tends to take those turns rather quickly.

Sorry this one was me! I thought it was a joke. I thought most Colt fans were embarassed about the AFC Finalist banner.

my big question is... what will the temp be in december? will the stadium be open air but have a roof or will they be able to maintain room temperature? is it totally enclosed when the roof is shut?

From what I am told, the roof is mainly for the other functions held in the current dome i.e. NCAA Final Four, Expos, etc. The overall concencus is that unless there is life threatening weather, the roof WILL stay open for football. Not sure if that is set in stone, but thats what I have heard. And yes, it does close entirely.

Yup. If I am correct, the roof retracts lengthwise. The end(s) (street level) also open, or retract, but are closeable.

That is exactly the example of having a SB in a Cold weather city and Jax is a smaller market than Indy and had to pull in Cruise ships to accommodate the size of the event. So to me, cold weather and city size are both discounted by that.

Indy's problem will be the Superdome for Katrina reasons and they'll host it every 4 yr anyway and I think and I could be wrong, but doesn't Arizona have a new stadium going up?

Since this is a thread on stadiums, the Dallas Cowboys new $1 Billion stadium (due to be completed in 2009) will be the best stadium in the NFL:

Indy is a city well accustomed to large conventions and would not experience the same disasters that inflicted Jax.
New Orleans' days of hosting Super Bowls are likely over - at least, until they build a new stadium. SB36 was the last one in N.O. and there ain't none on the horizon. So if we include future Super Bowls already awarded, their layoff currently stands at 10 years. Miami is the new New Orleans.

Someone in here said Lucas Oil Stadium was scheduled to host a Super Bowl in 2010, but that isn't accurate. They lost a close vote to the new Cowboys Stadium, which will host the Super Bowl that season (the 2010 season's Super Bowl will take place in early 2011). Right now there are no Super Bowls awarded to LOS, but they will probably get one sooner or later.

What would a SB in Foxboro be like? Besides cold, of course.

It would be similar to a SB in Indianapolis, with about the same number of strip malls but Indy's field has a roof.

(You really put that one on a tee for me.)
