WFT is a mess right now. Good chance the Eagles take the 7 seed (remaining games include 2x WFT, Giants, and Dallas). They played the Bucs close earlier this year losing 28-22.

In a rule change enacted last year, NFL teams became able to promote and return a player to the practice squad twice without exposing them to waivers or releasing them from the active roster.

On Wednesday, the NFL and the NFL Players Association agreed to tweak that rule for the 2021 postseason. There will no longer be a cap on how many times a player can be called up and sent down without being dropped from the roster.

The change will also apply to players who have already been promoted and demoted twice during the regular season.

In addition to the standard elevation, there is also a COVID-19 promotion for teams with players on the COVID reserve list. Promotions under that proviso do not count toward the two-promotion limit.

The Giants are up to six new additions to their COVID-19 reserve list over the last couple of days.

The team announced that safety Xavier McKinney, cornerback Aaron Robinson, and linebacker Cam Brown have been added to the list on Wednesday afternoon. They join wide receiver Kadarius Toney, linebacker Oshane Ximines, and wide receiver John Ross.

When will it stop? That’s certainly what the Washington Football Team wants to know after placing an eighth player on the COVID-19 reserve list Wednesday.

Texans starting linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday. On Wednesday, the team placed starting linebacker Christian Kirksey, reserve safety A.J. Moore and defensive lineman DeMarcus Walker on the COVID-19 reserve list.

There’s a good chance at least one of the 4 teams that got Germany as its HMA (Bucs, Chiefs, Panthers, Patriots) will play in the game there next year. NFC teams get the ninth home game in ‘22, so Bucs and Panthers would be very much in play.

It will be no different this year IMO. I think we may still have Patriots PTSD at play too thinking that Brady will be snubbed. His perception in the media did a 180 once he left us and went to Tampa and won the SB. He is almost universally loved and revered now. I don't believe the voters are looking to not give it him because of any bias even though there may be some from a few, I think they genuinely respect what the guy has been doing this year at his age as defending champ which is why his odds are so high right now to win it.

This does play a part IMO even though I agree that for the most part it's a stats award. Who's the favorite for coach of the year? You would think that BB should absolutely win it because he's been looked over for years even though NE basically won the SB every other year since 14. Of course he had Brady but every great coach has a QB. Watch them give it to Lafleur or the dude in LA. If Patriots finish the 1 seed it would be a bigger snub if BB didn't win it than if they gave MVP to someone other than Brady.

Moss was unreal here but overall I like the approach NE has had with WRs overall. They aren't worth 20mil or whatever max cap hit of the current era. There isn't a WR today I would personally take for a max deal and it's hard to find a Moss on a reject deal.

So I'm going to post it here, in the hopes that people will take it for the information, and not start any back and forth about the "science".

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell was asked specifically if the league had any discussions about postponing the Browns game against the Raiders, which is scheduled for Saturday.

“There has not been any discussion about that,” Goodell said. “We feel confident that with continuing changes and adaptions through our protocols that we can do that.”

The NFL and its Players Association have agreed to a rules change for the 2021 postseason, eliminating the cap for how many times a player can be a standard elevation from the practice squad without being dropped from the roster. Other changes could be coming to try to get through the season.

The league is considering allowing vaccinated players who test positive for the virus but are asymptomatic to rejoin team activities sooner. Currently, a vaccinated player who tests positive needs consecutive negative tests at least 24 hours apart to return.

Dr. Allen Sills, the NFL’s chief medical officer, said two-thirds of players who tested positive the past two days were asymptomatic and the others had mild symptoms.

“We’re always looking at that aspect of how we return someone,” Sills said. “What’s the goal there? You’re trying to return someone when it’s safe for them, when they are no longer a risk to themselves or to others. We have to learn and evaluate that against the data that’s coming out. So we study our returns very carefully, and we look at that in light of those outcome measures

The NFL Players Association criticized the NFL in a social media post for not having daily testing of all players, something it has called for since September.

The NFL responded Wednesday afternoon, with Dr. Allen Sills, the league’s chief medical officer, arguing daily testing has not proved an effective preventative strategy.

“We always look at all the tools we have at our disposal, and testing is one of the tools that we have at our disposal, and it’s a very useful took in certain areas,” Sills said. “But what testing doesn’t do is prevent transmission, and we’ve known that always. That was true last year, and it’s still true today. As we look at how to respond, what we’re trying to do is prevent spread within the facility and keep people from testing positive.

Thanks for these updates. I think the league is trending toward the right direction by shortening the time that asymptomatic players can return.
