OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

For context the Bucs were 5-5 at this time last year and Tommy was ridiculed for not knowing how many timeouts there were.

.

The Bucs had enough talent to beat WFT. They had Brady, Fournette, Evans, and Godwin. The WFT had Taylor Heinicke and McLaurin (and no Chris Samuels). Evans had 13 TDs and 1000 yards receiving last year. Godwin had 840 yards and 7 TDs. They have chemistry with Brady.

It was a Bad Loss. What’s there to say?

They should of won but the defense is way overrated. They play fast and well from ahead. That said you are getting closer and closer to your 'win out the season' bold take. What a freakin' win today!

Brady played all right. Arians is just being Arians.

The fact Brady gets dinged on his stats for that first int is embarrassing. That was 0% on Tom.
Other sports will correct the stat sheets during the game. I don’t understand why football doesn't. No debating that it was very clearly a catch and fumble.

Unbelievable that the D was on the field for most of the 4th quarter. Brady didn't even have a chance for a comeback with just 1 possession in th Q.

That doesn’t sound good. Then you had him borderline crying while being carted off. Trying to think of anything besides an ACL injury that it could be.

ACL tear is something you almost always know immediately. Chase Young tore his today in the first half and we learned about it in the 3rd quarter. If they currently don’t know what’s wrong I would HOPE it’s not that.

After years of Edelman it’s seriously frustrating watching Mike Evans. He quits over the middle constantly, and rarely seems to be a factor unless his man is badly beat.

He honestly seems more interested in drawing a flag than fighting for the ball on some plays. I think Brady is seriously missing an Edelman. I reliable chain mover that just busts his ass for every inch.

Then add in the ridiculous penalties, the injuries, and I’m pretty sure he’s hiding one of his own. The Bucs have no rhythm. They have nothing to go to and move the chains when nothing is working.
Bad comparison as Edelman and Evans are totally different players. Also Brady doesn't often look at Evans at the most important moments.

When it's a must have catch, he looks mostly to Godwin, AB, and Gronk.

Lately it has only been Godwin and he is not as consistently clutch like Edelman was.

Mahomes ball washer checking in

Lol. Yeah, the secret is to keep Brady off the field. TB only had 8 complete drives. That's 2 per quarter. Take away the 2 early interceptions, and that's only 6 chances to score TDs and make that comeback.

No way, really?

Today Gronk and Ab are out, and Godwin was a game time decision and Evans didn’t seem to step up at all. I’m not suggesting Evans and Edelman play the same role. Just that when Evans number is called his efforts seem questionable at times.

No question that there are still some chemistry issues between Brady and Evans and it's reflected in the decrease in targets this season, even though it should be way higher with Gronk and Ab out.

It seems that Evans doesn't always see the field the same as Brady. The interception today to Evans was like the 3rd (maybe more) time where Brady threw an interception to him that was not even in the same zip code.

Maybe before Brady, Evans was a more all around receiver, but now he is more of a big play and red zone receiver, not a high volume move the chain receiver.

heres the thing. I call BS. I cannot remember a single instance of a Patriots player tearing their ACL and us not knowing that day. And there have been plenty. This is the Pats where injuries are a state secret.

Bruce Arians is the opposite of Belichick, he is completely honest about injuries. So us not knowing it’s an ACL tear almost guarantees they don’t know.

Anyone have any takes why Brady mostly dinked and dunked? WFT had the worse passing D. Was it a protection issue? Only saw highlights of the game.

Couldn’t tell you, I didn’t see it. Gronk and AB being out combined with the running game needing to be put aside might explain it idk.
