OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

With 63 yards to 11947, Brown has passed Michael Irvin to 28 all time in receiving yards.

With 75 yards to 8546, Evan's jumps a spot to 85th on the all time list. He'll probably pass Gronk in 2 games who is 81st.

Yes, I enjoy keeping track of my fav players move up the all time lists and break records. It's like a sideshow.

Brady chasing Manning and surpassing him. Then breaking Brees TD and passing records.

Gronks TDs per games played is insanely high but I don't know where that would rank. If he had not been injured so much, he'd be way up there in the passing and TD rankings.

I'd like to see Brown move up higher and be a 1st ballot hall of famer. I am so impressed at his speed and his route running.

Evans has been less impressive, but he is consistent and steady. If he does that long enough, he'll have the stats to get in the HOF. Maybe 4 more years and 14k plus yards.

With the rule changes and extra game, there will a lot of receivers going over 10k yards in a career. Conversely, the rule changes has made many rushing and defensive records almost impossible to break.

Both TB and Carolina gave up nearly 450 yards vs Dallas. And TB had all their starters healthy week 1. TB has the best shot at winning the division but not a lock.
You think KC is a lock to win their division? KC maybe gets a WC and then they're one and done on the road with that pathetic defense.

Honestly I'm not so sure TB is a lock to win that division anymore.

Carolina's D is really good. Tampa's isn't.
Only 4 weeks but still.

Carolina has played the Jets and Texans for two of their three wins. That’s a classic pretender scenario where you beat some tomato cans early and get hyped up. Brady isn’t losing a division to Darnold or Winston; we both know that. Maybe they’ll lose 1-2 to the Panthers/Saints to lose the #1 seed. I don’t know. But as of right now, Tampa is far better than Carolina and still has the inside track for #1 in the conference. The biggest factors are: elite QB, easy schedule. I’m not saying they’re head and shoulders the strongest team. But look at the QBs they face the rest of the year; highly unlikely they lose four more games and maybe not even three more games.

The Raiders were pretenders, and so are the Broncos. Similar to Carolina, some easy opponents lead to overhype. The Chargers are talented, but there’s no way they win the division. Chiefs will win the division, but the #1 seed for them is tougher than it is for the Bucs. Much tougher slate of QBs to face.

Tampa was so beaten up at CB in the game against the Patriots that Sherman, who'd just signed on the Wednesday before the game,, played 58 of 59 defensive snaps.

"My legs were like Jell-O," new Bucs corner Richard Sherman said of playing all but one snap in Sunday's win against the Patriots, just four days after his first practice in nine months. More on his "amazing" Bucs debut, and Sherman settling in to Tampa:

Video: Richard Sherman talks about how last week escalated from dressing to maybe playing to starting to playing 58 of 59 defensive snaps in the Bucs’ win at New England.

Kraft was definitely the one who decided to cut Brown.

no

Him pumping up Sherman was pretty cool.

Do you have the entire video of the game?
I couldn’t find a video for the all game. The patriots have a small one on their YouTube channel and the Bucs have AB mic’ed up on their channel

TB is a lock to win the division. Other than the Buffalo game (which is in TB) the rest of their schedule is cake.

Nothing wrong with the TB defense that getting healthy can't fix.

Dallas lit them up in week 1...when they were healthy. Their secondary even when healthy is not stellar.

Also, those divisional games against Carolina and NO are not going to be easy.

Bucs will roll those teams twice each. Darnold and Winston aren't beating them.

No, but their defenses might. i doubt the Bucs will go 4-0 vs Carolina and NO.

Payton is likely worth a win for the Saints. He owns Arians. I wouldn’t be surprised if Bill picked his brain for 10 minutes. A lot of the same with JC Jackson as Marshon Lattimore to get into Mike Evans head. Payton also chose to double Godwin/Brown off and on and let Evans lose his composure to break Brady’s confidence in him.

I could see them losing to each of them once and still going 13-4. Those are some of the only “Bucs should win, but it will be tough” games as opposed to “How the hell could the Bucs lose to that team?” games left. Their schedule is so weak.

In terms of the secondary, they did lost Sean Murphy-Bunting in Q1 against Dallas, but I agree their secondary isn’t so great to begin with. The thing is, though, the best way to counter their dominant front 7 and lagging secondary is running a shotgun spread offense.

I don’t know why, but that stuff rarely seems to work in the postseason. Maybe it’s because DBs get away with more contact or defenses are just tighter and communicate better. But running the same formation 50 times a game and spreading them out is probably not going to work, and when healthy, they are at least competent if not above average. And while the spread works, you can’t just dink and dunk against them either.

I see them going 3-1 they will lose vs the Saints

As I suspected, Gronk has one of the best TDs per game average. For guys with 40 TD or more, Gronk is tied for 5th all time with Marvin Harrison at .67 per game. Just ahead of him at 3rd is Moss at .72 ( no surprise there) and Owen's at .70(again no surprise as Moss-Owens stats are almost identical across the board). Just behind Gronk at 7th is Tyreek Hill and Jerry Rice tied with .65.

What a list! Gronk is up there with the all time greats on an efficiency and red zone basis.

That Bucs win against the Pat's was a real rarity considering this stat:

The Pat's under BB were 102 wins to 2 losses when leading at home at halftime. That's what I heard anyways. Don't know if it is totally accurate as it is an almost unbelievable stat.

Just looking at the above stat and nothing else, the win probability for the Pat's was 98% at halftime.

How many of those 104 games were with Brady? 98?
