OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

If the Bucs can somehow some way sign Gilmore, they'll walk through the NFC!

They'll definitely try but Bucs probably will only want to commit for the season.

Gilmour wants to be paid bigly with a long term deal. Coming off injury, it's a risk for teams. It will be hard for the Bucs to come to a deal as other teams have the cap room and can take the risk.

Also Gilmour wants to squeeze every penny he can get in a new contract. What did he spend his millions on?

I can also see him signing a one year deal to show his value coming off the injury and then hitting the market big next year. I can't imagine anyone is going to offer him what he wants unless he goes to a bottom feeder team.

Brady will have a little chat with Gilly and suddenly Gilmore will sign for less than market value

I can't see a bottom feeder team committing big money in a lost season. It's going to be a team trying to make it into the playoffs. At this stage of the season, maybe 25 teams have a chance for the playoffs. If it really is all about money, he won't be going to Tampa.

I always said Tampa should trade for Gilmore. But if their corners are coming back from their injuries, outbidding every team and doling out some huge contract isn’t worth the risk. The entire point was he was worth a draft pick to rent for a year at a reasonable price. They’re not in such terrible shape at CB…they just have injuries at the moment.

Brady is the X-factor. He's probably having a chat with the GM and Arians too.

The stat that shows Bowles blitzing 22 times and getting burnt on 18 of them is nuts. Patriots tried it like a handful of times and got eaten up so they stopped but Bowles is persistent. Mac killed them on those 22 plays. Maybe it's a function of having to try and protect the secondary I don't know but seems stupid to keep doing it but I guess they only gave up 17 points and won so who am I to judge.

Ya they shouldn't push a bunch of contracts into the future to meet some crazy contract price. If no one is willing to pay him what he wants things will get interesting.

I agree. Just hoping he doesn’t go to the Chiefs or Packers. Go to some bad team for the money.

They had better result when they were not blitzing. They didn’t need to IMO. Put a ton of people in coverage. Rush 3 or 4 that was enough with our OL to put pressure on Mac and with Mac throwing only short

I don't mind the Packers because I want to see what Rodgers says after he gets knocked out of the playoffs. I don't want him to go to KC or Baltimore.

49ers are another CB needy team they can definitely use him

It would be so funny. Can you imagine the hate?
If the CB’s are going to be back in 4-6 weeks then they don’t really need him. But if he’s willing to make it work, I wouldn’t mind seeing it just to see the melts from other fans.

I agree with you. If Davis will be back 100% I don't spend too much on Gilmore but still have to inquire. If he's out though then that changes things a bit. The rage would be epic. People would claim that Brady and BB organized this behind closed doors after last week's game. The lunatics would be out in full force.

People are already saying the 23 minute conversation was about Gilmore.

Not sure how the Bucs won the game with all the thing that went wrong with the offense and the injuries in the secondary. I guess the thing that stands out the most is the turnover differential.

Even though Brady was a bit off, Bucs easily could have scored 30 if not for TD drops on Evan's and Brown, and an untimely penalty that took back a 45 yard catch. Brady's stat line on a below average day could have been 400 yards, 2TD.

Mac was good and will be the best QB of his draft class. The way he was moving the ball down the field against a beat up secondary that is the worst in the league at the moment, how could the Pat's not score 30 points? He needs a receiver that can go deep and/or a red zone threat.

It was a really odd game. Both teams looked good but bad at the same time.
The untimely penalty would have been a sack.

Matt Judon was a beast that game and he feasted on Donovan Smith all game
