OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Wonder how this works? The policy makes no sense if he's coming off due to a time limit that suggests he hasn't had 2 negative tests 24 hours apart. If that's the case are they still going to test him gameday morning?

I was referring to the last several years when he neve replaced AH, did not re-sign Cooks, let Amendola walk and basically let Edelman fall apart on the field.
Yeah, the last several years with the offensive skill position were strange to say the least.

Cook as the versatile deep threat would have been WR1. Cook had already shown that he is a top 15 WR1 on the same level of Mike Evan's. They let him walk and kept Dorsett who was really a WR4 in the Scottie Miller mold. So no WR1.

Amendola was a good compliment to Edelman. A WR2B to Edelman's 2A. So sienara to WR3 and no backup insurance.
No reason to let him walk as he was affordable.

No TE help for Gronk as he was being overused and beat up. Especially being double teamed and facing the best defenders. They kept on bringing in scrubs.

Then the drafts were just odd. Backup Sony Michel over his teammate starter Nick Chubb? NKEAL Harry. I looked over his film and the draft analysis on him after he was picked. And the reviews were awful for a 1st rounder. The analysis that he couldn't separate was spot on. He only could win jump balls against collegiate players. Even if he could win jump balls against NFL players. How often does Brady throw jump balls? 1 per game on average maybe?

Policy is always changing and doesn't have to make sense. You'll go crazy trying to rationalize it. It just is.

I couldn’t find anything about it in NFL Covid procedures. The 10-day isolation is only listed for unvaccinated protocol, where unvaccinated need to wait that long as well as negative tests. Haven’t found any rule that states you can play without back to back negatives, regardless of timeframe. Apparently it’s part of the protocol, unless Arians/a reporter is also misinterpreting the rules. It seems really strange that someone can be testing positive and still playing/practicing with the team.

I found it…here’s the rule. Credit to @203Pat for pointing this out yesterday too.

Ok so he had it right but we can assume that he's back in the regular testing cycle which means he could still test positive again Sunday morning or whenever the gameday test is?

Lol…the policy really makes no sense.

The “danger” the Bucs face is they have a schedule like the 2011 Pats and so can plausibly go like 14-3 with a really bad defense but it doesn’t matter because they’re up against crap. And then in the playoffs they’re in trouble. The bright side is that they definitely have a stronger front 7 than the 2011 Pats by a wide margin.

Ya they can be playing bad now but that front 7 is proven

Yeah, I agree. Dallas and LAR are two of the very worst matchups, as both have a deep group of WRs and both teams are averaging over 30 ppg even when not playing Tampa.

They will likely get better, and not just because of optimism (every team has that) but because this is largely the same defense as last year, which was overall solid but far from the overreaction levels from their dominant Super Bowl performance. They have plenty of high level individual players, unlike some other teams struggling on defense.

Thats what is going to happen. No way he does that **** that Brees did.
PEDton's planned celebration was worse than Brees'

Years ago, Brady sent Sherman a signed jersey and wrote “I’m still mad, bro”…lol

I’ve always beem consistent about Sherman. I think he has a lot of anxiety and acts badly because he can’t handle the pressure of the media and fame. He isn’t alone like that, as there are lots of athletes who are similar. He’s not a bad guy, as his teammates have always liked him. The latest off field issues were more than his garden variety antics, though. Dude clearly needs some psych help.

Gronk DNP today.

I like Sherman and always have. His face when Wilson threw the SB away was so perfect. I wouldn't of signed him here though. Hopefully he plays well but I think he'll butt heads with teammates or the coaches.
