OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Not sure where to post it so figured Brady fans might be interested.

Great read about Justin Herbert. An introverted, down to earth guy. Not a typical NFL QB personality, which followed him in college and led a lot of draft scrutiny about his leadership. They say these things about a lot of players, but in his case, he really does seem to be thoughtful, sensitive, self-deprecating. He doesn’t like self-promotimg, social media, etc.

I mean, he's not lying.
Agree.
Doubt Brady cares.
Have you not paid attention to him over the last 20 years? He’s getting in this guy’s face every time he can next Thursday. The last thing anyone should do is give Brady any extra motivation.

I always love the moronic, simple answer from these guys…

”How we gonna stop Brady? He slow! Git him! Presh-err!”

Few will actually point out how great he is at recognizing blitzes, getting rid of the ball quickly, moving in the pocket, etc.

Moving a QB off his spot is (a) so much easier than said than done, and (b) going to crush any QB’s passer rating.

I base it on Brady's interaction with Chase before and after the WFT WC game in the playoffs, after Chase supposedly put out bulletin board material.

I think TFB is just focused on winning, by getting directly involved in game planning and micro managing every aspect of the O, from what Bucs players said happened before the SB.

He's like an elder statesman. This stuff is small potatoes to him now, imo. He's on auto pilot. Maybe not. Who knows. Now if Bill said something (never happen)...

Yeah…he **** talks on the field too, so I’m sure he gets fired up in many ways.

I don’t believe this stuff actually matters from a competition standpoint, although watching him dunk on Anthony Smith in 2007 was a sight to behold…Mathieu in the Super Bowl too.

Or, let’s put it this way…maybe some little quote like this helps him, but in the absence of this specific quote, then come next Thursday he’ll still have one big chip in his shoulder regardless.

Mike Evans has officially signed his restructured contract. He created $8.9 million in salary cap space for the practice squad, injured reserve and other related player costs.

Bucs PK Ryan Succop is off the COVID-19 list and has returned. Still no Ndamukong Suh, Nick Leverett or Earl Watford, who will come off the list soon. S Jordan Whitehead and RB Giovani Bernard we’re not working during the portion open to the media.

Bucs' official site shows offensive lineman John Molchon now on injured reserve, so that's your corresponding move for Ryan Succop coming off the reserve/COVID-19 list. Molchon is eligible to return after three games.

Since there’s some confusion out there...Giovani Bernard WAS at practice today (pictured). He just was not practicing due to an ankle injury. Bruce Arians said today, “He’s fine.”

Speaking alongside a handful of his Bucs teammates during a “players chat” for the team website, Brady voiced his displeasure about the current trend in NFL rules that limits the ways defensive players can do their jobs, and how it leads to a worse on-field product for the players and fans alike (via Bucs team writer Carmen Vitali)...

WATCH: Tom Brady goes off on NFL rules

As the beginning of the season approaches, any predictions on receiving leaders for the Bucs?

AB 1100
Evan's 1100
Godwin 1000
Gronk 700
The rest 1400

For TD: 51 total, 50 by Brady
Gronk 11
Evans 10
Godwin 8
AB 7
The rest 15

Michael Holley, who has written multiple Patriots books, has read the Seth Wickersham book and says there are “bombshells.” He’s under NDA though.

Great stuff! Couldn‘t agree more. Tom also brought up the QB slides…I’ve been ranting about this for a couple of years. Quarterbacks trying to get that extra yard, slide too late, or delay their slide a second to run a little more…they shouldn’t be fair game. QBs who can’t throw low for protection, and throw players into hits…it all makes so much sense what he’s saying.

When does it come out?

Yeah it is funny, he has been slow for 20 years. lol, they act like it just happened, some how he was able to have a decent career despite his speed.

Maybe we'll finally find out the real reason why Bill benched Butler and threw away the Super Bowl instead of the BS we've been hearing up to this point.
