I see not all the "experts" are sold on the 2020 Bucs yet. For the 2007 Pats it was almost unanimous going into the season that this team was going to be special if not historically so. Just an observation.

I'd guess that a big win over the Saints might convert a lot of those folks into believers.

Dan Patrick "The Bears were on Tom Brady's final list of three preferred destinations. Buccaneers, Bears and Chargers. The Chargers were a long shot because of them being in the west coast. It came down to the Buccaneers and Bears."

Instead of Brady, Bears fans get another year of Mitch

Gonna probably watch more Tom than Cam this season. Week 1, Tom is on local TV but Cam is not. Probably not headed to the sports bar with all the COVID breathing mfers...

Why the Bears, I wonder?

I think anyone equating the 2007 pats with the 2020 bucs is misinformed. While both teams have dominant offenses on paper, the 2007 defense was much better than the bucs defense (who I think will also be good).

I think the bucs make the playoff, but I do not think anyone seriously thinks they will be otherworldly like the 2007 pats. They could beat the saints 45 - 17, and that would not really change my opinion too much.

Buddy just entered the Bronco's lottery for the Tampa game week 3. Only 7.5% capacity. Might get to attend a game this season after all. Safer outdoors than in a barroom?

Agreed. It's a worthless comparison for so many reasons.

Pre-Tompa Tompa was a locker room buzz kill...

Absolute joke of an article. Nowhere are there any quotes that say Brady’s attitude “sucked.” It takes the BSJ article that barely had a leg to stand on to begin with and then milks it even further. This isn’t even decent by blog standards.

Classic Boston fan reaction: Shoot the messenger not the message.
Guess you weren’t really paying attention to the sad Tompa act that was on display for 1.5 years. And if outsiders are seeing these signs, imagine what teammates were privy too

“I’m just the quarterback“
“Talk to the owner“
“Get the realtor on the phone”
“Fu*# OTAs”
Etc
Etc
Etc

The man changed

Point taken. So what does that have to do with anything present day exactly? How does that hurt or help the Patriots going into week 1 vs the Dolphins? What does it even have to do with this thread? I'm a little curious.

No.

He didn't change.

I guarantee we'll see the same Tom this year.

Last year sucked for me as a fan. That offense was inept. The D was Super Bowl worthy.

Thing is, we expect brilliance from the coaches because that's what they've given us. They were bound to fail at some point, and they were caught with their pants down on offense last year.

There are QBs in this league making $40m a year. For a guy like Brady who spent his career making $15m-$25m, of course there is some expectation that that money will be spent in ways to shore up the team, specifically the offense. And while Belichick is under no obligation to spend it there, and as a coach I actually want him to spend it where he sees fir (not where Brady or anyone else wanted him to spend it) it doesn't mean that Belichick is going to design the team the right way all the time, nor does it mean he's going to be successful. He did a very bad job with the offense last year. That's OK, it happens. But it doesn't mean a guy like Brady (who was absolutely put into a position to fail last year) has to sit there and go through it again, not when he can get paid a lot more to play with more talent. Of course Brady was pissed. I don't blame him.

Marshall freakin' Newhouse was the LT last year!
