That was a fast investigation compared to when pats are involved.

It took the NFL a week to finish an investigation into “Coach visit-gate”, but Spygate II still has no resolution 5 months later. It’s just funny how these things work.

Yeah. Still complete silence on taping the Bengals sidelines.

Just another topic to excite the faux outrage crowd. Before this was even reported no one even knew there was such a rule in place. Without the Brady/Patriots angle this would not have become a story.

As long as he keeps banging the drum on defame-gate, I am good with him

"The inquiry may have been limited to simply asking Brady what he was doing and accepting his response at face value, something the league definitely wasn’t inclined to do five years ago when pursuing the scorched-earth — and scientifically flawed — #DeflateGate investigation."

On the related topic - I think the fact the league has not interviewed Belichick or his staff about the Bengals sideline taping is evidence that they have found no link and they'll be clearing the Pats other than probably some sort of fine any day now.

100%. This happens while he is in NE : HUGE deal... this proves (even further) that the League hates BB - not Brady, not Kraft, not the NE area. It’s all about « inside out hoody, don’t show up for HC pics in preseason, too much winning » BB.

Wait, meeting with coaching staff before the official start of whatever is against the rules? Why???? I'm guessing the intention was to protect players from coaches insisting on working before the season... So punish a player who wants the extra work... Yeah, makes sense...

I suspect some states have more stringent rules and that it’d be an unfair advantage for teams in places like Florida where they have different « strategies ».

I believe this. I think the dog in the chair is BB tweaking the league.

You're gonna broadcast from my house? Fine. Here's my dog. He's a good boy.

"What were you doing at Leftwich's place?

    - "I was getting the playbook"

"Couldn't you just have used the one on your iPad?"

    - "I live right near the guy, for crying out loud. Why shouldn't I pick up a hard copy?"

"Ok, but what about the bags?"

    - "I was on the way to the park. You might have heard that was something I'd been doing"

"But, what about stay at home, and social distancing?"

    - "As Dak that question."

"Good point. Have a nice day."

Pats were docked a 1st and 3rd in next years draft because of Brady's general awareness of his coach's house location

At this point of the offseason, yes.
Because the players want time off.
It does make sense and here's why: The players don't want to be obligated to have meetings with coaches during the offseason (meaning this stage of the offseason... obviously there are scheduled offseason training activities during the appropriate time periods later on). If the League allowed for such meetings during the "no meetings" timeframe, then what you're really doing is you're making those meetings optional. And once it's optional, it's really not optional for a large number of those players.

The players want everyone to be able to take the time off with no negative repercussions for those who choose not to.

Without having read the article, why at all would this be a problem?

I’m 99% sure that they are going to find the Pats didn’t do anything wrong but technically broke a rule so they are trying to find the right balance so the rest of the owners don’t freak out
