Re: Rex Ryan is planning for a long playoff stay

I am certain that the Bengals can't wait to have their say in the matter. Nothing like providing the other team with bulletin board material, eh?

Can anyone else say Steelers?

#1 D and rushing game says hello. lol

yeah..the D plays great but likes to give game winning drives to the falcons, jaguars dolphins to name a few. Tony Gonzalez is still wide open.
This is exactly like the ravens D . very good until it counts in the end if called upon.

Re: Rex Ryan is planning for a long playoff stay

I have heard it said that defense along with a strong running game wins playoff games.

Cincy and the Jets have both.

I just don't see he benalgals closing the gap on a 37-0 shutout beatdown from a week ago.

First team to 20 wins.

kinda of an old merrill hoge myth about the running game. now you have to throw to win consistently. look at ARZ/pitt from last yr. its funny when everyone warps about the running game but want QB's to be throw the ball well in the 2 min off to tie or win the game.

All true, it takes time for a rookie coach to get his team up to speed, Jets are peaking at the rite time.

Ryan is gaining great respect around the league.

we shall see. they blew the atlanta game 2 weeks ago. now they gelled after manning went out. they 'peaked' and were favorites after starting 3-0 and ryan was the toast of the league then too so this crap about respect is just that -crap. they have been given too much respect IMO because he gives juicy headlines.

Also he talks about respect and 'whiny bengals' . Wow. I bet they respected the team which beat them twice in the fins a lot after getting their butt kicked. Rex ryan should shut up about respect.

Re: May Rex Choke on a Cheeseburger Thread

Ryan will never shut his pie hole, it's who he is, you either love him or hate him.

I love me some Rex.

Gunnails, I like you as a poster but, seriously, take a reality break. Your favorite team isn't going to win the Super Bowl, and I say that with no malice. The Jets are 'peaking' because they faced two teams with nothing to play for. Your team has a QB who's ranked ahead of only JaMarcus Russell, Jake Delhomme, Josh Freeman and Matthew Stafford in QB rating.

The last time the Jets beat a decent team when the opponent had something on the line was week 2 against the Patriots.

From about 5:30 local time today, for about 3-4 hours, I will be the biggest Bengals fan on the planet.

Well, personnally, I would like to see the Jests win this game. I think they have the better chance of going on to beat the Colts with their defense than the Bengals do. And I would love to see the Colts be one and done again!

Take a look at what's happened to the Jets in the second half of the season when they've played even decent teams with something to play for.

Yea but your not objective like me.

All around I like the Jets in todays game unless Sanchize has to throw more then 20 times. I never said the Jets were going to win the SB,,, this year.

Sure it's nice to have a good passing game, neither the Jets or the Bengals have one, edge to the Bengals of course.

Still ball controll helps win games.

Agreed but making plays in the passing game actually win games.

Well, I'll give you this much, for sure: The Bengals haven't exactly been lighting it up since week 10 and, if it wasn't for Welker's injury, I'd say they were clearly the weakest of the 8 top seeds in the two conferences.

Who wants to go with me to the Jets SB parade on Feb 9??

I kid you not.

Jets plan Super Bowl parade for Feb. 9 - AFC East Blog - ESPN

When laying out the upcoming calendar for his players, Ryan presented them with a schedule that boldly went beyond this week's practice schedule for Saturday's playoff game against the Cincinnati Bengals in Paul Brown Stadium.

Ryan wanted the Jets to know their Super Bowl parade will take place Feb. 9.

Kinda reminds of a certain team back in the day...

I took the Jets to win today in both of my football pools but christ do I hope I'm wrong.

Re: May Rex Choke on a Cheeseburger Thread

I think he's great. Adding to the confidence of his team.

Plus cinci players have to start thinking "maybe they really ARE better than us, I mean we kind of weren't playing hard, but they stomped us."

It's psychology. It's theatre. I like it.

I like their swarming defense too...much better than the pats "we'll give you 10 yard passes, but that's it". Pats couldn't blitz a high school team effectively.

I've never seen a post from you that was pro Pats.

Neither team is going anywhere.

The Bengals will have one more game than the Jets, tho'.

As long as the Jets defeat the Bengals AND the Colts. I don't care.
