Agreed. I remember the consensus here was we wanted at least one of them and when we got both the possibilities were exciting.I think everyone was excited about both Henry and Jonnu
I think while Henry far out performed Jonnu, Henry too did not meet my initial expectations.
Jonnu, as far as I am concerned was a total bust here.
Having a competent QB would've made a huge difference. He was in 22 and 23. Point is the last 3 seasons were not on the QB or putting Jones on the bench would have made a difference. It didn't. Those teams were not well coached at all.
I'm not overrating Jones just pointing out that putting him on the bench didn't change anything and in fact they looked worse. So the offensive problems in 2023 couldn't possibly be all on Jones.Having a competent QB would've made a huge difference.
You continue to wildly overrate Jones.
They looked much better without him. He sucks the energy out of an offense. Guy cowered. He was really bad. Jacoby Brisset would've been a massive upgrade. When you don't have a competent QB, you don't have an offense. It's as simple as that. I would take Peterman over him.I'm not overrating Jones just pointing out that putting him on the bench didn't change anything and in fact they looked worse. I will ask you the same I ask Wozzy, but he is not capable of giving a straight, honest reply. They looked much better without him. He sucks the energy out of an offense. Guy cowered. The schedule got more difficult. Mac beat up on bad/really bad teams while being overmatched by teams .500 and above. In fact, 7 of their 10 wins in 2021 where from teams below .500.I will ask you the same I ask Wozzy, but he is not capable of giving a straight, honest reply.
Did Mac look competent his rookie year? starting every game as a rookie. throwing for 3200+ yards. 22 TD's. going to the playoffs. going to the pro bowl.
yes, year 2 and year 3 he went into the ****ter. why? any blame onto MattyP? targets? OL?
sure, Mac is not blameless. but look at Trevor Lawrence his rookie season surrounded by incompetence. why is Mac any different year 2 than Lawrence year 1?
Same problem on defense. Their run defense wasn't very good, they never seemed to get a clutch stop when they needed one and the only good offense they held in check all season might have been the Bucs game where Gronk didn't play and AB had a couple of big drops... and they lost anyway. That's it. I don't count the Bills wind game, the weather did more to stop the Bills than the Pats defense did. Most of the time they were overpowered by any elite offense or run game they faced that year. The schedule got more difficult. Mac is not built to drop back and pass his way out of a deficit or shoot out.

Ehhhh dunno if I'd go that far. LolHe sucks the energy out of an offense. Guy cowered. He was really bad. Jacoby Brisset would've been a massive upgrade. When you don't have a competent QB, you don't have an offense. It's as simple as that. I would take Peterman over him.
I haven't been a fan of their defense since 2019. There's a reason why posters joke on game day "how's the weather?" because that's the only way they have a chance of slowing down competent offenses. You can't keep using the excuse of the QB or the offense when the defense continually gets ***** slapped by good to elite offenses. They have one Pro Bowl player on defense which was a FA signing and yet posters think this defense is elite. Unbelievable!Same problem on defense. And like I said they were one Jaguars upset over Miami away from missing the playoffs entirely. That would have been a really bad look for Bill not even getting a playoff appearance post Brady.... although knowing the outcome of that WC game maybe that would have been easier to stomach.
His first year he looked like a rookie. By the end of the year, the offense was in the dirt. They were actually more productive in year 2 than they were end of year 1. He had already started showing he was not going to make it in year 1. He was cowering from the rush, throwing lollipops, unable to stand in the pocket and move through his progressions. Many backups do well for several games in the NFL. It takes a while for opposing coaches to figure out, "This guy can't throw it to the boundaries at all. Flood the middle, he'll be a turnover machine."I will ask you the same I ask Wozzy, but he is not capable of giving a straight, honest reply.

would you take 17 starts, 22 td's, 67% comp % and the playoffs in Maye's rookie season, and be ecstatic? His first year he looked like a rookie. By the end of the year, the offense was in the dirt. This is why Belichick wanted to move on from him in the summer between year 1 and year 2 (Wickersham article).
I want a QB who will be competent for this team for a long time. If Maye throws 18 TDs in his first 10 games, then 4 in his next 7 and a bunch of INTs, and turtles every time a defender breathes on him, I will be very depressed. I will not be ecstatic. And going into the next season, I will hope he does a complete 180 and shows the growth future starters are capable of.would you take 17 starts, 22 td's, 67% comp % and the playoffs in Maye's rookie season, and be ecstatic?
I gave you a straight honest answer... you just can't handle the truth.I will ask you the same I ask Wozzy, but he is not capable of giving a straight, honest reply.

Mac fell off a cliff after the week 13 bye his rookie year, he folded like a cheap futon.
He turned the ball over 8 times in five games, completed 59% of his passes at 6 yards per clip... abominable. And that's who he was for the next two years, the same crappy player. Three games into year two and he led the entire NFL in interceptions.
You pretending like the last quarter of his rookie season didn't happen is not a straight honest assessment. Considering how much you stretch the truth and push your agenda that's not surprising though.

I think he would still be the starter in Washington if Daniels wasn’t on the board. Howell’s problems are very different than Jones. He takes so many sacks he’s an injury waiting to happen. Not all his fault as his OL wasn’t much better than what NE had.Sam Howell threw 22 TDs in his first 17 games as well.
I expect more from Maye than I got from Mac.would you take 17 starts. 67% comp %. 22 TD's. playoffs. pro bowl from Maye this season?
don't give me your usual dance
would you take those stats?
