OT - Jets players rip Sanchez, say he's lazy

What Sanchez did was bush league.

Youve never seen another NFL QB do that in the history of the game.

Umm, he didnt have a giant tray of hot dogs, he ate one hot dog. So far all the 'reasons' why that's such a horrible offense are very weak IMO.

I dont know if you're aware of this but the Jets blew out the Raiders that game 38-0, if a team can pull off that kind of play I'd happy furnish my entire team with late game hot dogs every game.

I believe the hotdog controversey came on the heels of the god damn snack controversey when Rex's boys brought Micky D's snacks to practice. You reap what you sow. Sanchez needed a lot of development to even have a shot at becoming a viable franchise QB. Landing in Tubbyville was the worst possible thing that could have happened to him long term, although short term it was a panacea.

Woody says this is all NBD and they will straighten it all out cap confines permitting once he gets back off the presidential campaign trail. I guess it's all about priorities.

I'm starting to feel bad for Sanchez. Sometimes he says things that are clueless, but I don't recall him ever saying anything bad about anyone. The backstabbing is unbelievable.

He does seem like a decent guy.

Looks like Schotty's "complicated" offense is too confusing for Little Marky. Apparently Sporano is going to have to pair it down to get Sanchez to understand it.

Look for Sparano to scale back the playbook. Schottenheimer ran a high-volume offense and it overwhelmed Sanchez at times, according to sources. Sanchez also needs a quarterback coach who can help him better understand pass coverages. Too often he doesn't know how to react when his first read is covered.
New York Jets -- Mark Sanchez has a lot of fixing to do on his image, performance - ESPN New York

Sporano plays to run plays like "Santonio runs to the blonde cheerleader and turns around" and "Everyone go deep" plays.

I had heard a couple of weeks ago that Schottsie was having to do pre reads for Sanchez based on what D's were showing and if the reads were right the play often went well, when it didn't Mark paniced. That's about processing capacity at game speed, and if you don't have it you can't develop it. Lots of guys can diagnose in a film room or on the board. That and fifty cents as they say...it gets you a cup of coffee in this league, but it doesn't guarantee you're around long enough to order a god damn snack to go with it...

There are two things that seperate elite from non elite players in this league, talent and capacity. You have to have a little of both to be successful. But you have to have a preponderance of one or the other to be elite. Mark has a preponderance of neither, and they knew the talent wasn't elite going in so they gambled on capacity...and lost.

Supposedly that's where BB went wrong in his personal evaluation of Chad Jackson. Chad aced the BB chalk board interview but he lacked the capability or discipline to do real time pre snap reads so essential for Brady's WRs.

There are many starting NFL QBs who can't do this type of read. The Sanchize is not alone. But panic is not an attribute that will advance a career.

It will still be.

1st down: quick slant to Holmes.
2nd down: quick slant to Keller.
3rd down: post to Burress.

or

1st down: run
2nd down: run
3rd down: quick slant

interesting....so it goes from 'players say sanchez is lazy' to mangold and woody johnson saying he is anything but.

the jets would be better off if he was lazy. now it appears more that he is not lazy, and that there is a bunch of malcontents on the team pointing at anyone else besides themselves for the teams problems......this tree is rotting from the inside

I think sanchez will eventually be one of the better QB's in the league. Just as Peter Carroll said that he was not ready, the worst thing that happened to him is that he started from the first moment. If there was anyone who would have benefitted from a year or 2 on a bench so that the coaches can slow the pro game down for them, it was sanchez. he actually has very good mechanics and fairly good pocket sense, but he has not been given the time to learn what needs to be learned.

Someone will pick him up when the jets dump him, have him be a backup for a year, then he will be a 90-92 rating QB

This Sanchez issue makes me curious.

If next year they decide to cut ties with him, what does Rex say?

Given that he's claimed Sanchez will be his QB as long as he's in charge.

He will say " Curtis Painter is my guy. We're the team to beat and we're going to win the Super Bowl....."

First off, you're presuming he survives Sanchez, and that's not a given in the market. If he does he will say the same thing he said this season, kill me for being wrong but at least I have the stones to put it out there...or someting. Along with the never gonna change line. That will one day lead him back to coordinating a defense that better have a boatload of talent and veteran leadership like the one he made his rep off of.

Wrecks' absolute declarations should not be taken seriously regardless of what/who they're attached to. His Super Bowl guarantee and short-lived vote of confidence in Schottenheimer are two recent examples.

Are you trying to tell us that Schottenheimer isn't a head coach now?

That the new QB will be special and that the Jets will soon be Champs.

Time to update my resumé....

While Woody is off campaigning and Rex and Tanny and their new OC are huddling with Haley to find out how many egos they can jam in one meeting room, their target for QB's coach David Lee of Ole Miss just took the Buffalo job of rebooting Fitzgerald...

On the show Hard Knocks, Sanchez shows up for a meeting....sweats, flip flops, no pen, no notebook. I thought "You've got to be sh!tting me!". The coach (position, I'm assuming) asks if he needs him to get him a notebook and pen.

Maybe I got the context wrong, but that looked like grammar school to me.

Hey what can I say... the Jets have a "player's coach" right?

Everybody loves when you say you're a shoe-in to win a Super Bowl. "Yeah okay I'll take this ride!"

Reality bites. What a set-up.

You almost have to feel bad for the good people of NY.

Oh that's right the good people of NY are Giants fans.

N/m

He does seem like a decent guy.

Seems like a diva to me.

I just think in general people are not going to go out of their way to 'backstab' decent guys. All speculation of course. But enough about the Jests and their pitiful organization.
