uh...heh...WOW

look...NFL players eat BEFORE the game...they load up...carbs...the idea is to get the starch converted to energy later on and HYDRATE during the game....I have NEVER in my life, playing sports on all levels, EVER eaten anything in contest...that's like "No No For Dummies" Page 1

In the 80's I worked at the hotel in Providence where the NFL teams stayed before the game and was responsible for the 7 AM pre game dinner...so I can tell you first hand what IS done and anyone can tell you what isn't..as in eating on the sideline in game...I've never even heard of that before.

If it's THAT much of a bad idea then surely we would have seen some bad effects but Sanchez didnt seem any worse for it. I've eaten apples/bananas during some pretty intense weighlifting sessions and not had any problems with it.

I would think that you would eat something that would be quickly absorbed into the body. I have had friends eat pure honey....during a long game....

the jets say they want manning, but who are they gonna send for him? Mark Sanchez is easily worse than Curtis Painter...

There are multiple reasons why Sanchez's hotdog stunt was outrageously unacceptable, including:

* Distracting himself and teammates by soliciting a vendor during the game.
* Eating something that's not easily digestible and potentially dangerous amidst athletic activity -- as in, aspirating vomit.
* Flouting rules prohibiting such behavior, and likely (unprofessionally) not following game day training table regimen.

It's simple physiology that strenuous activity, especially with an aerobic component, does not mix well with food consumption. The blood is serving your muscles and cardio-respiratory function and not the digestive tract, which needs blood to do its job. Simple sugars and electrolytes from fluids like Gatorade is what works. You're doing yourself no favors by eating during intense activity of any kind, including your weight workouts.

Mutiny, Rex is over in on his head. He has no clue as to what to do here. This is so shameful. Sanchez should not be treated like this, if fact no human should be subjected to this.

Your first point is probably off, most likely they sent an equipment guy to go grab it, i doubt Mark or Santonio headed up into the stands to find a hotdog vendor. Think Sean Payton and his juicy fruit. The only distraction value would be him ignoring pictures of the last offensive series.

The rest I agree with.

I'm starting to feel bad for Sanchez. Sometimes he says things that are clueless, but I don't recall him ever saying anything bad about anyone. The backstabbing is unbelievable.

agreed, Sanchez is just a scapegoat for everyone else being terrible. Not saying he's good, but it's not like the rest of the offense is any better. Hell even Revis isn't even as good as he used to be.

Sanchez is making tens of millions of dollars to live in nyc, bang supermodels, all while stinking it up on the field, and get pass after pass of excuses for him. That year at USC set him for life, what does he care? I don't feel bad for him at all.

This, if he was some practice squad player making much more average money with the risk of losing his job every day I might feel bad, but he's the #6 overall draft pick from before the rookie salary cap was put in place, he could probably retire today and live a very comfortable life assuming he doesn't buy 3 400,000sqft houses and a dozen exotic cars.

I'd take Sanchez over Rex Grossman, Painter and maybe Chad Henne but thats about it. He really is a bust, his foot work is so horrible, he's made some good throws here and there but this year really showed his true colors. Not to say I expected them to beat us at least once but I expected him to at least make it close in each games and look better but he didn't. Rex can say all he wants but he knows they made a huge mistake in drafting this guy

So you ARE a Jets fan!

Nope. Just a longtime Patriot fan who's not a pinkhat. In the pinkhat world no Patriot can be criticized and no member of another team can be praised. I have a much broader world view than Foxborough. Much more fun and intertesting to be that kind of a fan rather than a narrow minded sychophant.
Put Mark Sanchez on the Dallas Cowboys and they're a playoff team every year. No question Sanchez had a bad season but he still is the anti-Romo, i.e., Sanchez plays big in the big games and in the 4th qtr.

LOL It doesn't surprise me that you identify with Mark. You're both delusional and have an inflated sense of self...although he's got a far more charasmatic personality. Sanchez is more like Romo than unlike him, that's the problem. Although I think Romo has slightly more talent and bigger balls. He doesn't run from his critics, he just acknowledges and pays lip service to them and then dismisses them and reverts to form. Mark is in flat out denial. Romo also has an owner who has the courage of his convictions, however misguided they may be. That has allowed him to survive this long. Sanchez doesn't have that luxury, and he will be gone by this time next season unless he somehow manages to figure it all out amid a sea of chaos. And I think what most of his teamates have concluded already is he's not remotely smart enough to even grasp that let alone accomplish it.

Prediction: Sanchez is 12 months away from being a journeyman QB.

He has his moments, but he does not have the work ethic, drive, intelligence or talent to be a consistently good NFL QB that can lead his team.

No, I'm dead serious, I think that's beyond much ado about nothing.

So, youre fine with Brady munching on a bag of peanuts while watching the defense?

Hes hungry.

I don't care about the peanuts at all but I'd rather he concern himself with the opposing defense rather than the Patriots defense.

It's one thing to refuse to be a pinkhat. It's another to post delusional drivel.

That, for example, is delusional drivel.

What Sanchez did was bush league.

Youve never seen another NFL QB do that in the history of the game.

I don't remember another QB being caught wiping his snots on the jacket of his QB brother like he did to Brunell.....not only was that disgusting but seems a little bit on the immature side.

Immaturity is what keeps Sanchez from coming out of mediocrity.....and one has to wonder if he ever will.
