I love redemption cases especially if there is a chance it will help the families of victims. My thinking here is a wrongful death lawsuit. He has money making talent, he made a grievous error and I don’t think 3 years was enough punishment to be honest but with that said, he can provide additional restitution through future financial compensation. What are your thoughts on Henry Ruggs? Is there a chance he can play in the NFL again? How will you feel if your team brings him in to camp? He is a free agent and obviously this will be a polarizing topic but hoping to here others on this topic

His contract was terminated by the Raiders. I appreciate your viewpoint of redemption but no, I wouldn’t touch him. The Chiefs,Browns, and maybe Ravens would sign him with his history. That’s probably about it.

Isn't he in prison still? Maybe he can work out with the Mean Machine and get his skills honed up. That Crewe guy's got a great arm.

So, I looked him up and the case and read due to drunk driving he killed somebody. That’s a really big error and I’m not sure he deserves to play in the NFL again. It’s also been over 4 years since his last game so I wonder if he could overcome that long absence and still perform

**** that! This mother****er should be in prison for the rest of his life, not making millions playing football. He got drunk and ran into a womans car from behind doing 130 miles per hour, trapping the woman and her dog in the car, and both burned to death trying desperately to get out. If i saw him on a street i would run him over, then back over him multiple times to make sure the job was fully done.

He is still in prison but eligible for early release in Aug 2026. By all accounts, he has been a model citizen and works at the governors mansion on several duties as a “Community trustee “. By all accounts, he is keeping up with training and has been genuinely contrite.

If the Patriots signed him I would stop following them.

Ruggs sentence is 3-10 years. He was sentenced in August of 2023. He's not eligible for parole until August of 2026. It seems very unlikely that he'll be released by that point. So, he'll be 27 and not have played in the NFL in 5 years.

Pretty sure that the Commissioner's Office would have to sign off on him returning and I'm doubtful that woul happen. I also don't htink that the Krafts would want anything to do with him.

The idea that the family of Tina Tintor would want anything to do with him or money he earned is also perplexing.

Personally, I think it's an insult to the family that Ruggs is working at the Nevada Governor's Mansion as part of a Community Trustee Program. I wouldn't want anything to do with him nor do I believe he should be allowed back into the league.

It's a sad case of what happened.. what he did was a stupid, alcohol induced tragedy.. however if donte stallworth can see redemption so can he.. wouldn't mind it if Vrabel kicked the tires..as pure talent standpoint he was making big plays for the raiders prior to this awful event.

Man that's a tough one, nothing can make right the loss and anguish his stupidity inflicted on others. If his future earnings can provide some form of restitution to the family, inadequate though it is as compensation for the loss of a loved one, that would at least be something coming out of a senseless tragedy entirely of his making. If he still has game, Ruggs has Chief written all over him.

That crime was pretty horrific if you go into the details. Terrible decision that cost the life of that woman and her dog. Her family and friends, his family. He destroyed a lot of lives including his own. There may be some redemption in his life after he’s served his time. Getting the message out about the dangers and stupidity of getting behind the wheel intoxicated is a good thing I guess. It doesn’t bring anyone back, it also doesn’t hit as hard if you can talk about it but then go back to making millions.I just hope it’s not playing football with the Patriots if he does return to football.

No thanks.
Yeah, that one really hit home. You put your wife, daughter or sister in those same circumstances and its easy to get angry.

I still prefer him to Tyreek.

Ruggs hit a young woman and her dog who were trapped in a burning car. The young lady was screaming while burning to death.

Meanwhile, Ruggs and his woman were pestering the Cop for medical help as they sat on the side of the street. To my knowledge they didn't move a muscle to help the woman who was burning alive.

Don't bring him to NE.

Don't stallworth committed the same crime and saw redemption..
Donte Stallworth hit a construction worker that was crossing the road. He was doing 50 in a 40. He should of spent time in jail. Murder is murder. No other way to justify it except to say, he got off easy.

However, 156 mph into a stopped vehicle is a little more malicious imo. Was also twice the legal limit.

Who gives one **** if he's " contrite" or not? Driving 150 miles an hour ****faced and killing a woman and her dog is worthy of a life sentence, that's murder, not manslaughter. There is NOTHING Henry Ruggs can do to redeem himself, period. He's a worthless piece of **** who should spend the rest of his life in prison.
