OT: Freeman Slobberfest over Rodgers

Consider this: Aaron Rodgers, in his prime and with all of the weapons he's played with, STILL isn't as good as a 38 year old Tom Brady. Game over.

What hate and who is threatened? We as Pats fans know who is the GOAT. It's just idiots like Freeman who run to their computers to click submit after Rodgers finally beat the Seahawks to proclaim him the GOAT. Guy was 25 of 33 for 250 yards and 2 TD with 91 of those yards coming in the 4th quarter. Brady in the biggest game of the year in the 4th quarter down 10. Went 13 for 15 124 yards 2 TD against basically the same defense. Then the sheer audacity to print this story after Brady has pretty much had his best start to a season ever.

Guy is boasting about Rodgers only having 13 incompletions on the year (43 of 56 76.8%). TB has 28 incompletions this year but he's thrown the ball 91 times and has 63 completed passes which is a 69.2% completion percentage. He's thrown 35 more times than Rodgers and has only 15 more incompletions. Which means Brady is 7 incompletions from having the same completion percentage as Rodgers but with almost double the attempts. Which there was about 6 drops from Pats receivers yesterday, they hang onto those and Brady basically has the same completions percentage and a 131.3 QB rating for the season

This was not directed at you specifically but i have seen alot of hate for rodgers on this board as im sure anyone who spends time here has also seen. I really dont care all that much.. I am not some huge supporter of him. I just think he is really good and if we never had brady he would be the qb i would want on the patriots and im guessing most pats fans secretly feel the same way. He is no threat to brady what brady has done and the distance he has travelled "cannot be done". It will never be matched.

????

This thread isn't exactly oozing with 'hate'.

Agreed i overeacted to this specific thread.. But youve been here long enough to see what i mean... Your point is taken though

Rodgers is good. Very good at times.

But what people seem to ignore nationwide, is that Rodgers has a little bit of Peyton in him, when it comes to the playoffs.

His SB win came against a dogshit Pittsburgh team too. Normally, who cares, but people always bag on Peyton's win being against Rex Grossman, so...

3 one-and-dones and one of the most epic gacks in playoff history just last year. I get that he was hurt, but what was the excuse the first three quarters, when they moved the ball and didn't score TDs?

To me, Rodgers is a great regular-season QB, who neither helps nor hinders his team in the playoffs, all told. That makes him better than Peyton, anyway.

I think you are right.. Rodgers is about as good as you can be without dominating the league completely. The problem with brady and bellicheck is they are too good so non pats fans and the media are always looking to hate on them.. Probably alot of the negstive stuff we write on this board is because brady doesnt get the respect he desrrves from other teams fans and the media.

I just don't get how someone can call him the greatest ever right now. Brady is currently still adding to his resume.

same people who thought dan marino was the greatest ever circa 1987 ish

That might be going a bit too far. The guy is a great talent, he just isn't on Brady's level, and therefore should not be considered the GOAT.

a fantasy football QB is (to me) one that plays great in the regular season and loses in the playoffs consistently. Rodgers is only 7-5 in the playoffs overall and 4 of those wins were in 2010. outside that one super bowl season, he is 3-5.

I respect Rodgers but If Brady keeps going like this it will be impossible to outgoat him. He's getting better for christsakes, that is amazing.

Many don't get it but Brady is already the GOAT #4 ended that discussion. What's left could be piling on or much more than that. With this young team they have the makings of multiple winners, and Brady isn't going anywhere.

Sure. Let me do a Brady write up like i did Rodgers. Will take a while though. Brady has a few more games : P
We were writing this same kind of stuff pretty early in Brady's career. It turns out we were pretty much right. I'm not going to rule out Rogers attaining similar accomplishments. He does have a chance....not a great chance but a reasonable one.

I love watching Aaron Rodgers, but as BB says, there's no QB I'd rather have than Tom Brady.

The play-off discrepancy has already been mentioned, but a few other key figures:

One-score games
Prior to the 2014 season, Tom Brady was 54-22 (0.711) in one-score games, while Rodgers was 17-22. Rodgers did close the gap a bit after last season, going 5-0 to bring his record in close games up to .500. Brady went 5-2, including 2 one-score wins in the play-offs against the Ravens and Seahawks.

Coming back from big deficits in the second half (more than one possession)
I've linked this one before but it's worth repeating. Prior to last season, Rodgers was 0-21 when trailing by more than a touchdown in the second half. That's unreal. The INT percentage shows that he's not really taking a lot of chances to close that gap either. Some may read that as someone who stays composed and within the game plan. But 0 wins. You play to win the game.

And this matters considering Brady won 2 play-off games last season alone while trailing by more than one-possession, while Rodgers has yet to do it once.

Oh, and 4 Super Bowls. 4 ****ING SUPER BOWLS.

You want to be considered the greatest QB? Come talk to me after you win more Super Bowls than Trent Dilfer.
