OT: Felger to Borges "You're a fraud!"

Great TV tonight on Comcast Sportstonight. Felger comes prepared with past articles and quotes Borges has witten about how terrible a football player Randy Moss is and how he is killing the team. Felger then says, "you rip him for 4 years, but now that Moss has a problem with Belichick you defend Moss", "Your a fraud, what a fraud !", felger yells. Felger says, "remember about 10 years ago Ron", as Felger goes on to recount Borges attack of the Patriots for playing Tom Brady over Bledsoe in 2001.

Of course Borges goes ballistic.

Never seen two sports writers come closer to blows on the air. I could never stand Felger, but after calling out Borges on live television and in a serious manner, I may have to rethink my position.

Darn. I don't have Comcast so I can't watch this show. Wish I had seen it. I am one of the few who publically acknowledge that I kind of like Felger. I find him harmless, self-depricating and rather witty. And I am so glad to hear that he ripped that AH Ron Borges. Do they post the show on-line anywhere?

Funniest part is Felger calling anyone a fraud. Yeah, he was so right about Moss, he hardly caught a ball or TD here, complete bust.

Guys a Cheesehead from Wisconsin who's main accomplishment is a memoir about the team he knew nothing about. Can you say opportunist?

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad someone wrote the old time Pats book, but it's a strict cut and paste job. How much could he know about an AFL team?

Borges is just a sleaze, everyone knows that.

The Big Show should be must listen radio tomorrow, Ron is making his new weekly guest appearance...

As for Felger, he and Mazz have made each other hard to listen to let alone take seriously. But I do sense he is experiencing something of a rebirth as a grudging but intuitive admirer of the less than wildly talented but oddly intriguing strength of the wolf is in the pack BB Patriots - and he was their lone admirer back in 2001. Of course in this case part of his rationale is ratings driven, and part is to be contrarian and again turn the tables on his own critics. And to do what Borges longs to do and say I told you so in at least this instance. Borges may have hated Moss, but he hates Bill and this organization more and he will will himself to live and work long enough in this market to say I told you so (it won't work forever...), even if it's in 2020.

Felger's really grown on me. The guy is in the business of entertainment and does his job pretty damn well. While he is typically hyperbolic for effect, he does make some pretty good points and I generally agree with Felger's overall take on sports. I don't really understand why so many people hate him.

As if we needed any more reasons to see Borges for the fraud he is. I remember a couple years ago he wrote an article for MSNBC where he called Adalius Thomas the best free agent of that year's free agent class. Then when the Patriots signed him, he criticized them for making that move in the Globe.

Ironically, while talking out both sides of his mouth, it was Boston Globe Borges who was right and MSNBC Borges who was wrong.
