Exactly. Wilfork went to bat for Burgess pretty vocally against the notion that he was just skipping camp. That's good enough for me.

Since signing his new deal Vince has shown himself to be 100% heart-and-soul engaged with the good of the team. I'd be shocked if he weren't one of the captains.

Re: OT: Favre just skipping camp too

As a general thing, typically the end of camp means the end of two-a-days, curfews, team meals, bunking, etc. Focus expands from skill instruction and conditioning to include game preparation. The Patriots are unique in that their "training camp" is conducted on site at their normal practice facility. Many NFL teams will hold their training camps at colleges because it allows them to do many of the things described, like bunk players and hold team meals in cafeterias.

Cool; thanks. I can see where some people might want to skip that after a few years, though it does seem like a good part of team-building.

Re: Favre just skipping camp too

I feel the same way. A few years ago Favre was one of my favorite players. Now I can't stand the guy. Last year was the perfect ending to the Vikings season in my book. A heartbreaking loss just short of the Super Bowl in a game they should have won but didn't because Favre made a stupid throw and got picked off. I know it is not the only reason they lost the game, but it makes for a better story if it is played off that way. :)

Re: OT: Favre just skipping camp too

he just did not want to go to TC and the Vikings HC was in on it

with Jackson at QB they are a 9-7 one and done playoff team at best with Favre, at QB they got a shot at a SB so like Kontra said if i was a Vikings fan i would not care

The Vikings should have traded for McNabb. They'd have 3-4 years window at least with him at the helm.

Outstanding. I would never want the modern Favre on my team. It's too hard to win games to just throw them away.

How the hell do you even throw six interceptions?

This is simply stunning . What, is the rest of the league blind? Thank God that despite his ball-washing, at least no one calls him 'clutch'.

I borrowed these stats and pasted them on my facebook :D

    Man oh man:

Vikings coach loses cred in locker room - NFL - Yahoo! Sports

Why doesn't the SOB just take over as coach too while he's at it? George Halas did it, and the ol' hillbilly sure seems to think he's earned the title.

I am so sick of this guy that at this point I would not mind at all if someone gave him a career-ending injury so we could be done with this crap.
