OT: Favre threads merged (one is enough)

Part of your problem is the inability to see the difference here...

Bruschi conceded he would make a house call to a waffling key teammate to force a decision on his playing status -- which is what he hopes the Minnesota troika actually did -- but he made it clear he wouldn't try to influence him one way or the other.

Tedy Bruschi: 'I've lost respect' for the Vikings if they begged Brett Favre to play - The Huddle: Football News from the NFL - USATODAY.com

Q: Did you get any reaction from Tom Brady? Obviously he’s a guy you saw come in at 23 years old and now he’s a worldwide superstar…
DP: Naturally, he tried to talk me out of it because he’s a major reason why I decided to even come back and give it a shot here because he thought that I could still play.

Funny, it seems I was noting that there was a difference.

Be careful what you ask for, you just might get it.

This just in

The plane Favre boarded is piloted by those two pilots who got lost flying to Minnesota a few months ago. Also brought out of retirement, they are still in the air with Favre and their other passengers. In their current confusion, they've tried to land in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and been rebuffed. They have also been intercepted by the Air Force repeatedly.

The other passengers are demanding refunds for their tickets.

Favre, speaking to ESPN from his cell phone on board the plane, seems to be taking it all in stride. "I'll land wherever they want me to land, and the interceptions are just the price you pay to fly."

OT: Favre just skipping camp too

I have felt for the last couple years that he is always planning on playing and has found team(s) that will play along.

Like Burgess.

I don't recall Burgess doing it year after year after year.

Re: Favre just skipping camp too

Heck, I'll be happy if Burgess can throw even half the TDs that Favre did last year.

Allowing Brady to play OLB? ;)

Well done.

And, at nearly 40, he just put together the best statistical season of his entire career in 2009. If I were the Vikings, or a Vikings fan, I would take a look at what he did last year and then take a look at what we would have if he didn't come back, and welcome him to skip camp if he feels like it.

Re: OT: Favre just skipping camp too

Mmm ... isn't it about time to point out that Burgess didn't just "skip" camp? He had a problem to deal with and BB gave him the time to do it -- and protected his privacy. I'm expecting Burgess to repay that support.

Apparently, skipping camp is profitable. Apparently, the Vikes are paying Favre $3.5 million and another $3.5 million in incentives to come back and honor the contract he already has. Favre is a narcisistic arse.

Yeah, Favre and Burress are apples and oranges.

:yeahthat:

Favre is like the guy whose enabling admirers keep defending him only to have him kick their rationalizations in the nuts in the process...

The good news is he just bumped the 2011 QB tag figure up exponentially so the locals can stop whining about how it would screw Brady vs. Manning if he were to be tagged next season...

...Favre will crush their hearts and I hope he does. Anyone that kisses Farve's ass deserves the stink bomb sure to come their way. His Int/TD ratio is just awesome! I want to see another epic fail from that guy and want to see his pimp (ESPN) scramble to cover his ass. Maybe I can hear another gem from Mr. Jackson. I especially loved this one as he was trying to defend that attention whore. "Brett has never been afraid of throwing a pick." Yah, think? LOL!!!!

Re: OT: Favre just skipping camp too

Hey -- I have a question and this seems like as good a place as any to ask it. My understanding is that "camp" is now ending. I know that means no more public practices, and maybe even fewer media opportunities. But what exactly does it mean for the players and coaches? What do they do on a "camp" day that they might not do the day after "camp" ends, and vice versa.

ESPN was pretty much the first network to pile on him after the New Orleans loss. Trent Dilfer was especially bad.
