OT: Cooks traded to Texans

Saints traded him because he became expendable with the development of Michael Thomas and recouping a first was a good deal for a player they did not desperately need. The Pats then traded him because they weren't going to sign him long-term for the money that he wanted (and ended up getting from the Rams). The Rams now traded him because of the stupid contract they gave him when they traded for him.
His contract is pretty good for this year (8 mil). They can cut him next year without any dead money so that gives them a year to work out a more reasonable contract or move on from him.

he is made of glass and low on yac

Funny how a guy made of glass could play 78 out of 80 games over the past five seasons and put up four straight 1000+ seasons.

I would welcome Cooks back with open arms if the Texans move him after next season (likely given how Cooks' career has gone). He's not WR1, but he's still miles better than everyone we have other than Edelman and James White.

His most "memorable" moment as a Patriot was that leap in SB 52. As an opponent it was getting schooled on the game sealing pick in SB 53. There has to be a reason this guy can't stick on teams.

And ..lol @ the Texans. Hey instead of paying arguably the best WR in the NFL top dollar, let's trade him and eventually pay Cooks big money. Makes sense.

Bill should have sent that 2nd for Cookie instead of Sanu. Rams were already done.

Yes and no. The contract sucks.

His most memorable moment for me was definitely the game winning TD against the Texans

This makes the hopkins trade even worse. If you’re willing to pay cooks all that money why the f wouldn’t you just pay hopkins

he also came up big for us in the afcc. Add the drawn pi’s to his actual yard total. Just not worth top wr money unfortunately

No WR is worth top WR money.

Imagine trading Hopkins and then bringing in Cooks.

Hopkins trade is one of the most mind bogglingly stupid moves I can remember. Can't wrap my head around that.
