I can't see Ohio State vs Clemson not happening in the first round...LSU should automatically be ranked 1 for beating a top 4 team.
LSU should have been ranked #1 before this weekend anyway. That they aren’t is a joke. And I strongly dislike LSU. Their strength of schedule (and victory since they haven’t lost) is by far the best in the nation of any of the other top four.

If Ohio State loses, I could see the BCS standings as -

1. LSU
2. Clemson
3. Ohio State
4. Georgia

I don't think anyone else would sneak into the top 4. Alabama would have been that team if Tua didn't get hurt. The best possible matchups would be LSU vs. Ohio State, LSU vs Clemson, Ohio State vs. Clemson.

Oklahoma will jump the bulldogs.

Edit: nvrmind I see in later posts you made the change.

Th playcalling by Wisconsin on that drive was abysmal...at this point in the game you should be throwing on every down

Loved seeing OSU battle back. It was looking like a potential blowout for awhile there. OSU is legit folks. Best in the nation. They will prove it soon. My prediction.

Coan got wrecked at the end for no reason.

So rankings after tonight should be -

1. LSU
2. Ohio State
3. Clemson
4. Oklahoma

Ohio State vs Clemson should be real good in the playoff game...
Ohio State should stay #1

Ohio State probably has a more complete resume/stats to support them as the #1..but LSU with Burrow feels like they have something special that gives them an edge in the long haul.

the chart lays it out, though i think there should be a top 10 defeated column too

ohio state and LSU are a wash at 1/2
but looking at that it seems to me Ohio S has the best shot at winning, w/ lsu and clemson tied for 2nd

i think whoever gets #1 will have a MUCH easier game than whoever gets #2 as clemson is much tougher than oklahoma

That’s what I thought too, but he was a runner at the end of the game on a meaningless play, so I can see why they’d be more hesitant to blow the whistle there.

If they play Clemson in the first round, there won’t be a chance to have that happen. Clemson will put the tires to them.
Probably, but Justin Fields is practically a statue back there right now, so 3 weeks of rest may greatly benefit him.

I don’t think OSU falls to #2, though. I think Clemson and LSU play each other.

Not really into CFB but one of my friends (and high paying clients) is an Oklahoma fan so I started following/half-rooting for them a few weeks ago. It’s crazy how many things that had to happen for them to get the #4 slot. They needed losses by Penn State, Alabama, Georgia, Oregon, and Utah, all of which had one loss at the time. Also Oklahoma came back from a 28-3 deficit to beat Baylor (yes, 28-3!) the first time and beat Baylor again today in OT. Pretty crazy.

Wish it were an 8 team playoff. 5 major conference winners are in. Two at large major (power 5) also in. 1 additional team from a non-major conference also gets in.

ESPN has the chances for #1 as:

OSU 39%
LSU 36%

As a Buckeye fan, I’ve got to think that the only hope is if they remain at #1. I can’t possibly envision a scenario where they’d beat both LSU and Clemson.

Ohio State should stay #1

LSU destroyed a better opponent in their conference championship last night. Ohio State struggled, especially early on. Ohio state should be 2.

Great write up of what the Cavs got out of the game in the Athletic:
Despite being routed, Virginia managed to do to Clemson what...

Highlights:
  • Three of UVa's four best players didn't play
  • Virginia scored 17 points. That doesn’t sound like a lot, but only North Carolina (20) put up more against Clemson this season. In fact, Brent Venables’ defense had given up just 16 total points to their last three opponents (NC State, Wake Forest and South Carolina).
  • UVa finished with 387 yards, the only team to top 300 against Clemson this season. And it wasn’t all done in garbage time. The 304 yards the Cavaliers put up through three quarters was still more than a Tigers opponent has had in a game this year.
  • Perkins, who was every bit as electric the first few series Saturday as he was in rousing victories against North Carolina and Virginia Tech, threw for 266 yards, topping the 236 Texas A&M’s Kellen Mond threw for against Clemson in September.
  • Perkins’ two touchdown passes matched UNC’s Sam Howell for the most against the Tigers this season.
  • Hasise Dubois had 10 catches for 130 yards, which were more receiving yards than six Clemson opponents had as a team this year.
  • UVa was 10-for-18 on third down (55.5 percent), the only team that even topped 50 percent against Clemson this season.

Georgia is not better than Ohio state

It’s not based upon 1 game.

Buckeyes have 3 heisman candidates, they are # 1 is scoring offense, #5 in total offense, #1 in total defense and #3 in scoring defense. They are undefeated with a rookie HC and dominant on both sides of the ball. They are something special too
