I don't know how you can tell the last 2-3 drafts where bad, of course they did not hit a home run with every pick but overall it was quite a good series of drafts, with very good players, you cannot ask for more, you not gonna draft Hall of famers with every pick

Jack, will be a mainstay at corner for us. An elite talent with great ball hawking skills. Expect him to be a starter next year and after his many hours of film work and training during the offseason, I'd expect him to be one of the league leaders in interceptions as well.

There are those fans who have the delirious notion every draft pick must be a hit and if they don't it's an abject failure.

Reality is if you get 2 starters and 2 quality reservists you are doing your job.

History tells us every player picked after #15 in the 1st round has a 30% chance of being a starter and a career longer than 5 years and it gets only worse as you approach the 2nd-7th rds.

...but they don't want to acknowledge that data because it kills their "we suck at drafts" narrative.

I think the Broncos would be stupid to hire Mayo or any defensive minded head coach. They have mortgaged their future on Russell Wilson. They need to hire a head coach who is going to fix him. That is the #1 priority of the Broncos right now.

I think any coach, especially a black coach, would be nuts to take that job. Flores or Raheem Morris would be wasting what is likely their last opportunity at being a head coach.

I think it is a bad job to have. I think Wilson is done. A better coach might get him to play closer to average than awful, but his days of being elite are done and his contract will hamstring the Broncos for years along with the loss of draft picks they gave up. Wilson is going to be a coach killer for years to come.

What’s the deal about Kliff Kingsbury? His Cardinals improved each of his first 3 years compared to the prior, until they took a step back this year. Rumors are he’s potentially on the hot seat. Anyone understand why? Seems like one bad year after solid improvement is an overreaction when looking from afar.

I ask because Albert Breer (ew, I know) posted in an article yesterday that he verified that the Patriots have done some homework on him as a potential OC candidate. Seemed pretty intriguing to me, knowing his direct experience in Belichick’s system, but generally running a more “modern” offense. On the face of it, sounds like an interesting option to potentially blend the old with the new.
