Gotta debate something it is a message board so who do you think wins the 08 team or this one? I'm going with this one.
'86 Celtics remain the best, imo, but this team is the closest thing to the Golden State Warriors in their run that I've seen.Excellent season and caps off the last few seasons. I like when teams build up to it over a few seasons really makes it so they earned even more.

That started the Beat LA theme for Boston championships and the Sox and Pats eventually jumped on board.I think if I had to pick which team could win three over the next six years, I'd take this team. But for one year I'm taking the 08 team. More experience, similar talent and depth, and they beat the Kobe Lakers. It's close though. Both teams were the best team in the NBA basically the entire season.
Agreed. Hard to say which team is better been 2024 and 2008. Different era. 08 will always be looked at as the gritty, tough team. 24 was a shade more talented up and down the roster IMO and definitely more athletic and fast paced.'86 Celtics remain the best, imo, but this team is the closest thing to the Golden State Warriors in their run that I've seen.
I put them at the same level as the '08 team (but they're much younger). Also, the league really isn't top-heavy anymore. There are so many really good teams.
2008 Celtics had to go through prime Lebron James and Prime Kobe Bryant in an MVP year. This year's Celtics team played Miami, Cleveland, and Indiana - all of whom were missing their best player for all or half of the series. And then beat a #5 seed in the finals. The 2008 Lakers were the #1 seed and had only lost 3 games in the first three rounds before meeting their demise vs Boston. LA were also heavy favorites to beat Boston whereas the current Celtics team were heavy favorites to beat Dallas. This year's Celtics team does not measure up to the 2008 team. This is not a knock on the current iteration of the roundball club on Causeway; it is more of a cautionary tale to those that seek to up whatever is modern and current at the expense of the classic time-worn champion.Agreed. You can make a strong argument for this being the second greatest Celtics team of all time.
So because they were the number one seed instead of beating the number seed that gets held against them?Green 18 Baby! Lets Go Celtics!!!!!! Lets Go Celtics!!!!!
