BTW, I'm not defending Watson.

Of course you are.

How so. I've said multiple times I'm focused on the NFL process. That's the only thing that interests me. Idc about the rest. Civil charges are only about one thing, money. One way or the other he'll pay (settlement, judgment if he loses in court, but even if he prevails, he'll have spent millions in attorneys).

I've also said he was cruising for happy endings. That's clear. I also said that the type of civil charges he's facing are hard to prove in court. That's also true. Not sure how being objective about where this stands is defending him. It is what it is.

What I'm not doing is jumping on the bandwagon of ppl finding him already guilty before any trial or thorough review of ALL the evidence. I'll leave that up to the moralists in the forum and give kudos to Buzzbee for how he sensationalized the civil suits from the get go. He's a saavy attorney.

Again, I'm interested in seeing how this independant ex-federal court judge looks at the pickle Goodell has created w/ his different treatment of owners and players, despite the Policy clearly stating that owners will be held to a higher standard.

I think that based on my limited knowledge of the policy, previous similar cases, and rulings, that he'll probably get a 6 game suspension (which is what policy calls for). Then we'll see what Goodell does. Will he appeal and hear the appeal himself and give him an indefinite suspension? That'll throw a monkey wrench into the new process agreed to in the 2020 CBA. Will NFLPA & Watson sue the NFL and take it to federal court? Will Watson play this season while appeals run their course?

Thank Gawd, i hated those commercials

Just.

Stop.

That's beyond embarrassing.

Interesting article on the evidentary standard to be used by Judge Robinson.

All Hell will come down on the NFL if they try to punish Watson severely.

He did not play last season. Time to move on.

What does this even mean? Are you saying the public will be upset if they punish Watson severly? If so, I disagree.

As for the Players.... the Union will put out a statement about how much they disagree with the decision and then they'll all shut up and go back to work.

It would confirm what we already know. The sham NFL is not consistent enforcing its conduct guidelines against white owners.

It is not enough simply to avoid being found guilty of a crime. We are all held to a higher standard and must conduct ourselves in a way that is responsible, promotes the values of the NFL, and is lawful.

? Assault and/or battery, including sexual assault or other sex offenses;

Heres Jerry Jones promoting the NFL.

Your buddy Bob "Coupon" Kraft winning souls in Florida.

AB had it right. Krafts just like him.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand the NFLPA won’t do sh*t

If Goodell over rules any suspension Judge Robinson hands down, and imposes whatever he wants, it is very likely that both Watson and the NFLPA will take it to Federal court.

Where they will lose. The commissioner's power is absolute.

Maybe, but they'll be looking at the decision of an ex-Federal judge instead of that of the former lay person's kangaroo court. Especially if he flies in the face of a sound judgement backed up by Goodell's own precedent. It'll be interesting.

You're obviously biased. That much has been shown lol. I say that with respect man. I just don't think your objective when it comes to Lamar.

So it's been proven on the field and with stats Lamar has been much better than Baker. Stats are posted on a page back comparing them. Baker has never had an all-pro or MVP season or stretches.

Baker has been a good to average QB so let's compare Jackson to Josh Allen. A universal top 5 QB.

Jackson has a higher comp %, almost 15 INT,

Less sacks / less yards given up by sacks,

Higher Y/A, ANY/A, AY/A (adjusted yards per attempt) , NY/A (net yards per passing attempt.

I get that he's not everyone's favorite but a lot of you have underrated him and kept false narratives going by not watching him.

Anyway stats certainly aren't the end all be all. Anyone that actually watched him play knows how good he is as a passer and the stats above show that as well. He's not perfect by any stretch but so much better than most here give him credit for. I get not a lot of people are watching Baltimore though when they're not playing NE.

Yup. He'll get the chance this year. That'll be one of the more interesting watches in the league. Kyle has to be pissed with how the QB situation(s) have gone. Jimmy is good enough to help get you there. Maybe push a boulder over the edge when it's teetering but not could enough to be "the system" and build around. So you know he's going all in from a mental standpoint, play calling, trying to make it work in general.
I'm not a fan of either Baker or Jackson and I never heard of either one of them until they came to the NYFL. I've seen enough of each of them to have an opinion though. As for Josh Allen, he'll also need to stop relying on the run as much, just as Mahomes has done.

If I have a bias about QBs it's for a good reason, and it's the same reason that some players didn't support Cam Newton when he came into the league. QBs don't win with their legs in the NYFL. They win from the pocket and we have decades of proof of that fact.

IMO, Josh Allen didn't run enough last year. The game they lost against the patriots was downright embarrassing.

Mahomes has run about 60 times a year. 60, 43, 62, 66. So he's relying on his legs just as much as he's always done. Allen 89, 109, 102, 122.

Sorry man but you really don't have a good handle on football. Like you're a Pats fan no doubt but have no idea what you're talking about regarding today's game and players. That much has been shown.

Sure but the position has undoubtedly changed. Of course you need to win in the pocket. No one ever disputes that but the player playing the position is different. Just look at the three QB's you brought up. All of them could win in the pocket and with their legs. The ability to scramble, buy time, run, RPO etc .. Cam lost, Mahomes has been to multiple and won one and Allen is the biggest factor by far that his team is a strong fav to win a SB this year. Not good examples to bring up.

Sure, pocket passers ruled the day for a long time but those days are gone. Once Brady goes that statement only becomes stronger.

This might sound good to say but truthfully it only works with early bird crowd. Dusty outdated talking points that make you feel good, for w/e reason. It's not like you're playing. It's a simple observation if one would open their eyes and be objective.

It's not necessarily an opinion or something I like or want. I simply don't ignore the obvious. You look at the best QB's in the league, most can win with their legs in some fashion. You look at who's getting drafted, especially early in the draft. And you see it's younger guys that can win with their legs too. As someone who's obsessed with college football and follows high school ball. That's not changing. I'm just not ignoring it or pretending it's not happening.

I knew about Mayfield somewhat, but he shot up draft boards after the Pats were rumored to trade up for him. Jackson was certainly hyped up and was linked to the Pats pre draft. Jackson overall been a fantastic value for where he was picked, has a winning record and has resurrected a dead man walking coaching staff. I'm not sure who's arguing Baker vs Jackson, but it's not even close Jackson is better.

I wouldn't say Allen is relying on the run as he still passed for over 4,400 yards. Seems like more an more QB's are running with the ball though. But I agree, 100+ carries is way too many as only he and Jackson were in that range. Most QB's were rushing no more than 90 times.

Baker was considered a top ten pick before Jan of that new year. I believe he dipped when the video came out but he always was in or around the top 5 - 10 since about Nov. Peaked at #1 about a month and a half before the draft around the middle of March. He really didn't shoot up believe it or not.

If the Panthers had an O-Line they would be a pretty good team…. they don’t.
