The quarterback situation has naturally gotten most of the attention, followed by Gronk. But this is the stat that blows my mind: only 3 offensive starters from last year's opening game were in uniform for this year's. Of the other eight, two moved on to other teams while SIX were injured/suspended. The Patriots won both opening games with almost entirely different lineups.

2015 Game 1 Offensive Starters (with 2016 starters in bold):

Tom Brady
Dion Lewis
Nate Solder
Josh Kline
David Andrews
Tre Jackson
Sebastian Vollmer
Rob Gronkowski
Scott Chandler
Julian Edelman
Danny Amendola

And 6 of the 8 guys who missed the first game are coming back. Unbelievable how loaded this team is.

Thanks for digging this up.

Well, it's not like there was a 600-post thread debating DA's value...

...oh wait... never mind.

Simply found it interesting that he was among the few to make both 15/16 lineups.

DA is a special player and I have been one of his biggest supporters since day one. There are a lot of posters here that are just about numbers. Sure, they are good but I like other intangibles and DA brings a ton of them. Besides, who (other than TB) has ever taken TWO salary cuts for this team?

This is why when people piss and moan about "being cheap" and not going out and getting "that stud" at whatever position for big money just makes me chuckle. IT'S ABOUT DEPTH!

Football is a game of attrition! Last man standing. EVERY year. Literally.

That's the game, that's the game.

(in cuts, in cuts hahah)

In cuts and slants.

The list also exposes the "challenges" that the FO has had creating a consistent and productive OL,
especially at OG and at backup/future OT.
