that is the bottom line.. the last 2 games here left bad taste in our mouth plus not getting help from other people... ( bangals not beating the texans.)....but a win in denver we win the division... the key then is securing the bye.. i dont care about the number one seed i just want to secure a bye... i dont want a third seed and face the jets in round one...

Last week's game was irrelevant. The Pats made wholesale changes in the second half on defense. I still think Belichick approached that game as a glorified preseason game in the fourth quarter.

This game was disappointing although the Pats did outscore the Redskins 14-7 in the second half and could have been 17-7 or 21-7 if not for Brady's poor throw in the red zone.

i think also the center position in flux is hurting the offense...

1 in 3 chances to win the East. And the bye doesn't really mean anything, look at last year.

The buy does mean something. It doesn't guarantee a win, but it certainly helps for a team that is still banged up a bit and still have supporting players learning their jobs.

Nah. If the past few years have shown anything it's that, bye or no bye, if you're not hot/streaky in Jan. you won't win the SB. It's all about who gets hot from here on out just like GB last year.

The Colts were streaking until the playoffs the year they won. The Giants struggled to get into the playoffs the year they won. The Steelers weren't playing great towards the end of the season in 2005. It isn't all about that.

The only thing ruining our win streak for me is the fact that Houston just doesn't lose, even without Johnson/Shaub/Mario. It's ridiculous, I think they actually will go 13-3, had a horrible feeling they would and it's looking more likely. I bet at least one of Balt/Pitt does the same.

Did you notice everytime we've earned a bye/playoff spot it really wasn't close, but everytime it comes down to the last week we have NEVER gotten help aside from 2001. Seems like the same could happen this year, I guess the tiebreakers might work in our favor this year though if things hold up. GOT to have Steelers lose at SF next week.

Hilarious examples as all three of those teams did not have a BYE those years. The Steelers of 05 are the definition of getting hot at the right time. You're either playing hot or you're not, irregardless of the bye.

It is crazy how the Texan are still winning..lol..I still say one team is going to lose again maybe 2 teams is going to lose, and its going to come down to the last game. However, the Pats technically control their own destiny if what I hear is correct. Damn Bengal...lol

Placing hopes in the Bengals...is there anything lower?

I think the Texans will lose one at some point, ditto Pitt or Balt. I foresee a 2nd seed happening.

Nah, I am not placing hopes on the Bengals. If the Pats take care of business, it will allow some margin for error say the Buffalo game, but they will just have to play on. No worries here.

If we win the next week and eventually get the 1st bye,Patriots will be at home
until the SB.

P.S. We need a praying Smilie .
